Backup camera advice

I am waiting for a few more wires to arrive in the mail but I thought I would get most of my head units accessories roughed in. I bought a license plate mounted backup camera and I need to power it from the reverse lights. Would you recommend tapping in to the trailer harness wires or to the reverse light wires themselves. I read that the reverse wires under the dash are black with a pink stripe does this same color continue all the way to the lights? I will also run a trigger wire from the same place I tap power for the camera and run it up with the video cable to the head unit.

I tapped my power from the taillight itself. Even though I still had to run a wire from the head unit back to the taillight for the input for it to switch over.

Tap into the trailer harness wire. Ford already ran the wire for you. Why do it again?

Tap the trailer harness. Much easier.
