my 1978 f250 4x4 when i finally finish it will be a 460 stroked to 545, with a dual quad intake, running twin 425 impco propane carbs, about 12-1 compression, retrofit hydraulic roller cam and lifters, and will get about 4-6 mpg of propane and push about 500 horse and 650 ft-lbs torque... now thatll be a fun truck- until i have to fill it with gas
a 94 would be an e40d... computer controlled... so the computer may have just been reprogrammed too. lots of modifications could have been done in 13 years

my best bet is too take it down to Ford dealer if my tuneup dont help. they should be able to tell whats wrong. Well i will post my results tomarrow right now im going to hit the hay. thanks for your advice i will keep you posted.
i have a 1991 460 with headers k&n and throttle body spacer with 3.55 gears E40d trans and 35 inch tires i get 10.5 every day no matter how im driving the reason that im getting 10 and some people are getting 8 or less is because i have an E40d trans and the 3.55 gearing also the k&n filter gave me two mpg however the headers and spacer gave no mpgs and i also throw in a bottle of injector cleaner every thousand or so miles which helps
I HAD an '86 F350 single cab dually with a C6 and 4.10's and no matter what I did I got about 7mpg. On the plus side, I put an edelbrock performer 460 intake on it and rebuilt the factory carb and it pulled a 9.9 in the quarter :-) On the down side, it didnt take long before I bent 12 of the 16 pushrods and oil circulation issues did the rest :'-(
"it pulled a 9.9 in the quarter " you mean the 1/8th right? no possible way that it would get 9.9 in the quarter without lots of nitrous, a blower, and/or a stroker kit, unless you mean the quarter kilometer
No, I definitly meant a quarter mile. I don;t know what was done to it, I bought it as a womped out old horse puller, adn with minimal work it used my head to crack its back window when I used too muck gas.... If i could figure out how to insert a picture I'd show you one of the old girl turning her 4 rear tires into smoke :-)
do you have any idea how much power it would take to push a 5000 lb truck to 9.9 in the quarter mile? more than even monserbaby's race truck puts out, and hes at about 900 horse with a 528 stroker, custom solid roller cam, 14-1 compression and race gas
As a matter of fact I do, it was a f*in beast! but really there wasnt anyhitng too special about the engine, it was just a 460, headers intake, cam and rebuilt holley 800 up there... I always attributed it to the C6 and gearvendors combo

This has got to be the biggest bunch of I've seen in quite a while. A 9.9 sec. 1/4 mile truck would be next to unstreetable and totally worthless as a tow vehicle.
