Neutral safety switch

I have a 1991 Ford Ranger 4x4 with a 5 speed and I would like to locate the neutral safety switch.

Symptoms are when you push the clutch and turn on key nothing happens.
I jump the solenoid on the firewell and the truck will start.I thought the solenoid was the problem and purchased a new one but nothing changed when I installed this. This is why I feel the neutral safety switch may be faulty.

Any ideas or can someone tell me exactly where the switch is located so I can jump this out and check it.

Sounds like a bad "clutch interlock switch" which completes the start circuit when you step on the clutch.

Pull the connector off, jump it with a paper clip & see if it starts

Good question. I dont have a wiring diagram for a 91. You should be able to find an online wiring diagram at autozone.com or your Haynes manual should show it.
