Neutral Safety Switch - reverse light problem

78 f150 4x4 c6 trans

im having trouble getting my backup lights to light.... right now i have a manual switch for a temporary fix.... im assuming the neutral safety gives power to the reverse lights

thinking maybe there is no juice TO safety switch..... safety switch functions properly in drive and reverse.....

sooooo which wire to the safety switch is power for the lights and where is the safety switch located???? trying to get an idea of where to start. thanks

I had same problem on my '79 150. The nuetral safety switch is located on the drivers side of the trans and it's pretty easy to replace. I found the best price on ebay. I was to worried about the lights but soon after the reverse light quit the truck would only start in nuetral and not park. The connector is under the hood on the passengerside firewall. I used a long piece of wire with a hook to fish the wires up to the connector.
