Not always a good thing though. You can lose a sec in the 1/4 just spinning tires to get off the line. Gears are no good if you don't have traction. Higher gear ratio with traction....I have a Hemi ram, and can launch pretty good. Leave a Z or a mustang sitting at the light, but what mph are you passing at. That is going to matter in the long run. Pursuit? I am not sure I am familiar with that. I take it it is not a stock motor or anything. That seems pretty obvious. The SRT-10 is passing at almost 110 stock. STOCK!!!! I get tired of people acting like that is not a big deal because they have a SC V8 of some sort with a cam, ignition, exhaust, CAI, Roller rockers, and a PCM flash or chip. It is sort of comical.
A good point with the traction comment.
Here is my Pursuit Ute.
Bone stock, naturally aspirated & 109.30 MPH... But all of you have probably had enough of me gloating with what we get down under... https://www.ford-trucks.com/user_gal...&albumid=14643
Nobody questions Porsche --and a great deal of them are turbocharged. The thing about having a factory supercharged engine is that the engine is built for boost (pistons, rods, crank, etc.). This makes upgrades quick, easy, and far less expensive. It's easier to swap in a blowzilla and crank up the boost on a Cobra/Lightning than it is to make an engine blower friendly and then install a supercharger kit.
All you need to do is to look at all the 99+ Lightnings, 03-04 Cobras, and 93-98 Supras that put down insane dyno numbers with just bolt ons without sacrificing driveability.
