There was an SRT-10 Quad Cab on Ebay with the Venom kit. It was turning 800hp, and the 1/4 mile time on 'er was in the mid 10 second range. But...if I was to put that much into the truck to get that performance, I would probably just opt for the Viper. But then again.....some people prefer trucks.
A quad cab SRT=10 will NOT beat a Lightning. The vast majority of SRT-10's are turning mid thirteens with good drivers. The only one that was even near stock that broke into the 12's had a few bolt-ons, weight reduction, AND a professional Viper driver behind the wheel. The fact is, they are slow cosidering what their specs say. I fear none, except highly modded ones. Quad cab's are running mid to high 13's. They aren't that much slower than the reg cabs. The automatic in the quad cab makes it much easier to drive and more consistent. Still, they are nothing to be afraid of in a Lightning, especially with a pulley and chip.
hm-mm-mmmm, says the guy with the brand-new F250 V-10 2WD Regular cab. How do you get into the V-10 forums you mentioned above. I know I might get tempted about next spring to do something expensive and dumb. thnx! I REALLY want to know what those guys are using for tires!
1. Different motor that is upward of 550 h.p.
2. Need a stronger tranny for this, and the rest of the drivetrain to accomany the increased torque
3. won't come out for another couple of years
4. the shelby version of the mustang is going to increase over $5000 over the cobra
..but they do not MAKE a regular cab 150, do they. You sound like you are not speaking from knowledge but guessing. Do you KNOW what the new Lightning will be?
Are you saying that they don't even make a regular cab F150 any more???? That is wrong. They still make a ton of them. The new ones all have the quad doors, but that is for easy access to the space behind the seat.
huh, last time I checked Ford's website, which was about 2 minutes ago they still do make regular cabs. It does have 4 doors but still only 1 row of seats.
