Perc, Watch how you talk/write. This is a friendly forum and if people get defensive about not being able to understand a simple term like regular cab when I try hard to make it very simple to understand, how is that a concern to you? If it is maybe your concern is being misdirected. This thread is about Lightnings and we can agree on the following. We all hope it comes back and has a special hipo engine. I think anyone over 30 would guess it will not have anything but a regular cab and that is a real issue because they no longer make a F150 regular cab.
isnt the reason the lightning got canceled is the same reason theres no cobra svt is out. Carllol shelby the man i love is producing a gt 350 cobra for 2007 year i hope he builds a truck as well other wise roush truck in the new style is pretty sick just ford needs to step up to the plate other wise they will be left off where mopar was in the 80's i drove the new charger today at work the thing is bad *** and fast but feels like a luxary car not muscle car but faster then any stock for including the super charged lightning and the charger is natural aspirated ford step up
Just read about the 2007 GT500 in 5.0 and Super Fords. That thing is awsome. 450 horse. Its a SC'ed 5.4L quad cammer. What else could a SC'ed 5.4L quad cam be used in? Hmmm. Any ideas.
Saleen is coming out with some incredible 05 mustangs as well. Why should it matter if an engine is SC'ed or NA. If it gets you the performance you want its all good. I think we will probably see extended and super crew lightnings by 08 at the latest. We will even see a regular cab model even though some people dont think Ford makes one right now. Its all about options, performance with practicality.

smokem331: Magnum R/T's run mid to high 14's from what I've read, and I doubt the charger will be much faster. Maybe it'll get low 14's, but Lightnings won't have a problem with that (especially off the line). The SRT's aren't out yet are they? Those will probably be a better match.
But I have a distinct feeling it will only be advertised as 450, so to not take away from the (far more expensive) GT.
I am guessing it will be a twin screw supercharger as well...
On a second note, maybe somebody should start a poll on this extended cab/regular cab issue. I'm willing to bet that the regular cab Ford still exists, based on the opinion of people here.

No replacement for displacement. Superchargers give you the performance, but its not the same as a big NA V8 like we used to see in the 60s. Yes, it matches the HP, and performance, but its just not the same.
