i am about to order a new f-250 reg cab, diesel, six-speed truck. it will be an XLT and ihave a question about it. since it is a XLT will it have the keyless entry. the truck that i am looking at now doesn't have the advanced security group. but i was wondering if keyless entry keychain thing would come with the truck anyway. thanks for your help.

 

the keyless entry is only included in the ASG... but you can add a Ford entry thru the dealership parts/service dept. part number 2W7Z-19A361-AA Keyless Entry Kit (RKE) Make sure to find out how much it costs installed... you might just end up ordering the ASG for the $

In my opinion the best thing about the ASG is the auto headlamps. Most people put some kind of security system on thier trucks anyways, seeing Ford still does not think $35k is not worth securing, all alarms will have a keyless and illuminated entry.

I love the auto headlamps. My second truck with them.

 

Being one of 300 plus Ford super duty owners in my city that has reported their vehicle stolen since the begining of the year, I'm mistified by the lack of security provided by the "Advanced Security Package."

The other thing that mistifies me, that while its convienient to get a key made based on my vin, so can your local thief with the right contacts and your vin. All that was left when my truck was stolen was a new key package.

After 6 weeks, my truck was recovered from Mexico and is now getting repaired from the damage.

I had a clutch lock, etched glass, and the "ASP", but that didn't work. So I am looking for best sugestions to secure my SD upon its return home. Unfortunately, its too big to fit the garage.

 

My 2005 SD F250 XLT CC SB 5.4 did not come with keyless entry. Was told that is a option. For another 750 bucks they could install it. I passed. Also inquired about adding limited slip and that was a cool 2500. Passed on that one also.

 

If you have a six speed, put a kill switch on the clutch interlock, unless they bump start the truck, they probably will pass.
