Question

Are my lifts adjustable?

I have a 2002 f250 with the 5.4. Are the lifter adjustable on this engine? Under a load I'm starting to get a ticking sound from the engine. It almost sounds like it could be a little exhust leak, but I checked that already.

as far as i know these engines do not have adjustable valves, they use hla's

you probably have a bad one.

Check your exhaust manifolds for broken bolts, lost nuts, cracked manifold? I had that ticking and it wasnt the valves it was exhaust leaks. Had to reman the manifolds and new stainless studs.
