lighting problem

I have a 69 f-250 camper specail, my problem is that when the cab lights are connected to the harness the headlights don't work, I have a feeling that it might be a a ground problem, but don't know where to start looking any suggestions?

be a little more specific. do you mean the dash lights in the cab or the courtesy lights or all the interior lights?

do the lights on the roof work when plugged in? try a seperate lead from the fuse box to test the harness for the roof. its either a short in that or like you said a ground.

do the cab lights have a seperate switch or do they work off the same as the running lights . also if its the same switch if you just turn on the running lights without the headlights do the cab and running lights both work?
