94 E350 boxvan running light problem
Running lights won't shut off. Unpluged head light switch, and they were still on. Have to un hook the battery to keep from discharging the battery. Don't see any blown fuses or burnt wires. Could there be a relay or something in the circut. I don't have a wire drawing. Any help would be great! Will it hurt to use the truck?

It sounds like its in the harness somewhere. See if there is a fused line for the running lights and trace it from there. You have to have a hot wire touching that circuit somewhere for it to stay lit.I would bet something got smashed and melted together and you will just have to trace it back and find it. Good luck Mush

Are you talking about the red ones across the step bumper or the ones at the top of the box?
If the red ones for the step bumper, then check the lamps for being damaged. It really is a cheap design for those round tail lamps, even the Grote ones. You can check them for being bad with a test lamp just by removing the C clip and popping the lens out.
If it is the cab roof or box lights, start checking a relay. The stock headlamp switch is usually not strong enough to run all those additional lights so they sometimes tap into a constant power source, the fuse box, or directly to the battery for the relay power. Then the headlamp switch turns it on and off.
I doubt you have any bad wiring, just a bad relay because the coil is not being pulled back by a worn out spring in the relay.
Start at the fuse box and look for a wire from that to a relay under the dash on the driver's side of the steering column. Otherwise trace the wire from the lamp back to the relay. Usually they are not under the hood on the vans.
