I was told that they can not because it fords programming in the computer and they don't even want international in there. At least this is what I was told here recently from an international dealer in the parts department.

yes an international dealer can work on them only if there is not another ford dealer in town and if it is a 650-750 they can as well our local international dealer works on the 650-750's only as neither ford dealers sell them or has a large enough repair facility for them we work on 550's and under

Question Help! Am I a new '05 Crew 250 6.0 pstd lemon owner?

Help guys! My new 250 SD (5600 miles) 4x4 cost a ton. I'm new to diesels. Problems: 1) HFCM filter not as shown in manual has side drain plug, a mess to drain, and is a costly trip to dealer for a $100 drain if water gets in fuel. It's supposed to be a lever valve and owner drainable according to all Ford literature! Yours? 2) Fumes in cab and lots outside. 3) Rear brake line hose wraps around bottom and rubs on shock absorber, hangs down & it's a prime target to be ripped out by even something low on road. 4) mpg really stinks 13 hwy. (65 mph) if I'm lucky. 5) Lots of rear end rattle over bumps. 6) Trans slip and buckle up hill in 2nd when you take your foot off and on gas. Hey, get this, all the black paint pealed off the Ford 250 Tags 2 days after delivery. Have I just bought into the Ford Twilight Zone?

Yep!
I am sorry to see you have joined my world Have you seen the dealer yet for your fumes problem? If so, what did they tell you? If not, do so asap! Hopefully it will be something simple but have them do the smoke test instead of just the visual inspection as it will be a little more conclusive as to leaks of the exhaust system. If they don't find anything with the smoke test, try smelling the cap from the degas (radiator overflow) bottle and see if it smells like exhaust. If this is the case my tech said the EGR coolant lines are leaking and need to be replaced (done in my truck) this may or may not fix it. Start your documentation NOW because you may need it later, write down everything you tell them and vise versa. I would also suggest calling NHTSA and filing a complaint, this exhaust issue seems to be happening a little more frequently than it should.
Good luck!
