Off I go

I have 600 miles on the new '05 buyback (6.0, SC, SB, 2WD), and we are leaving in an hour to go from the L.A. area to Elkhart Indiana to pick up our new 5th wheel travel trailer. Hoping for a trouble free trip, unlike the '04 that never made the trip 'cause it was towed to the dealer just as we were to leave.

Looks like we might luck out on the weather, the 10 day looks good. I am anxious to see what kind of mileage I can get. Going there empty, I am hoping to beat the 19.4 I got on my one quickie trip. Coming back with the 7500# (empty) trailer I am hoping for 13. The old '98 5.4 got about 9.5 pulling a 6000# trailer.

The buyback details still aren't worked out yet (minor stuff), and I will post as soon as they are for the archives.

Should have about 6,000 miles on it in a couple weeks.

Lucky fella, you get to spend some quality time with your truck getting to know her real well right off the bat. I tried that but the wife kept yelling at me in the driveway telling me to pry my skinny butt out of the seat and sleep inside.

Lucky you...I'm leaving Phila Sunday morning and heading to Carlsburg WV for a week of work...over the mountains and throught the snow I go...looks like a nice storm is heading my way...lock it in boyz...yeeha! What's sucks is that this is the first time I have ever felt that I might have a problem with one of my vehicals and get stranded somewhere waiting for a tow...04 6.0 w/ 5k on her...shouldn't have to feel that way...never did with anything else...but in the back of my mind, well...it just ain't right...

Ford bought back my 2003 F-250 and put me in a 2004 F-350. All was well until a few thousand miles ago. Torque shift went out, clutches and steels were toaste. Now I have water in fuel light on, coolant comes out of the resivoir. and the filter minder blew apart. It goes into the shop monday, I hope they dont keep it for a month this time. I should get rid of it, but I cant bring myself to part with it. I love this truck I just dont trust it for dependability.
