I think he's gonna take that race, boss. While a 351 is a torquey engine and will pull the world around with a c6 behind it, that's what it's made to do. That truck isn't made to win any drag races. If the guy's any good on that stickshift, you're gonna have one tough time beating him. He's got a higher power-to-weight ratio, more gears, and a LOT less air resistance.

Personnally I would tell him to hook up or shut up. He's not gonna win a pull-off against an f250.

Yep, all carbed ford's after 73 or so are retarded in the cam for emissions purposes, I switched my 76 460 chain to one out of a 69 linc(at the parts store I told them that to get the right part), noticeable difference but not too much. Try it, a chain and both gears is only like 20 bucks, go with a 69 mach 1 351 windsor too, make the guy at the parts store drool!

If he has the 3l, I think you would beat him, unless he's really good with that 5 speed.

I'll probably agree there.....with the 3.0L it all depends on how good he can drive it!

Ouch...maybe the 3.0L is slower than I originally thought.....I ran a 16.6 in my 4.2L F150(when I still had second gear) but mine is a much heavier truck...

84-250, how many miles are on your truck? what about the tranny? what kind of shape is it in?

I think that guy needs to shut up, a 3.0 ranger is not a fast car by any means (no offense to those 3.0 owners out there).
