temp. gauge ?

I own a 1999 ranger 4.0 engine my temp. gauge runs near cold , but my heater seems to heat up very quickly, I'm thinking of changing the thermostat but I'm wondering if the gauge might be wrong . Anyone have this problem before. Thanks for your help.

Mine never makes it very far above the "C" either, but the heater works great!

I guess I wouldn't worry about it. Gotta love ford's idiot gauges...

The gauge should read about a 1/4 with a 45 ohm resistor in place of the sendor, you can use this to check the sendor too using an ohm meter.
