Good point.. Never thought about that Duh !! So you just unplugged the wire and gave it the big toss...
Wire?!?!? There's a temperature sensor with a wire leading to it on the BOTTOM half that you must keep or the engine will throw a code. As far as the filter minder it's just little canister with a diaphram in it - no wire.

Kwik... I have a 2003 and there is definately a wire coming off the bottom of the canister.. it must be something that turns on the warning light in the dash.. When my filter light came on the other day because my filter was dirty.. I hit that canister reset and the light went out.... That's the only thing I can think of..... ????? What do you think ?? There is a wire on the bottom half at the back as well, just like you said originally....
With regard to the battery cables, I have had some made at a local shop that sells and services forklift batteries. They have big wire in stock and every type of connector you can put on it. I ran power to Anderson connectors on the back and for a winch. Cables cost me $150 but I NEVER had a problem in 6 years and then I sold it. It's still worikng today.
kwik, so with the 2/0 being bigger, do you think i can go from the front of my truck all the way to the back? i got a f-350 ext cab with 8' box, so i probably have to go something like 23' maybe a little more. i know the longer a wire is you will lose some power. what do you think, the 2/0 wire will be just fine? thanks for your help.
I don't know if this means anything for ya, but all of us portable welders running 300 and 400 amp diesel welding machines all over the northwest use 2/0 welding lead on all our trucks, as much as 200 ft on each lead ( ground and stinger), thats a 400 ft current loop, and do this all week long. I don't think you could pull enough current through 2/0 cable on any truck application that could hurt anything, just my 2 cents Good Luck.
PS: Ck out the site Kwikkord recommended, its pretty good.http://custombatterycables.com/
