Understood now. Well last night before I got some shut eye, and I do mean the some shut eye, I said I would provide details from the worst date ever. Well I'll start by saying it was a blind date, sort of. Neither of us had ever met each other, we met on a personals site on the internet. So we decided on a spot to meet that we would both drive to meet for dinner and then go to this haunted house thing and then go from there if we felt like it. While emailing back and forth and playing the instant message game thing I thought this chick was pretty cool and we'd probably hit it off great. Now I'm not a person who gets nervous when meeting someone new, I have to oftn drive somehere and meet someone be it farm related, business related or whatever and public speaking is nothing new so for me this is just another adventure. I'm also a talker so conversation isnothing new to me to find out everything I can about someone or to kill itme in chit-chat. I arrived early at the Red Lobster we arranged to meet at (keep in mind this is a 1/1/2 hour drive one way for em so far) an put my name down for a table. She arrived shortly after did and in the first 5 minutes of meeting this gal for basically the first time I knew this wasn't going anywhere. WAY TOO QUIET, and that's a severe understatement. Anyway during dinner i don't recall her bringing up anything, I would ask something to try to get her to talk and either nothing or sort responses. I asked if she was just a little nervous or anythign and hse said knwo, perfexctly normal. I'm thinking great, this is just great. Before our food even arrived I was thinkng of a way to get out of this politely, to not tell her this sucks and I'm going home. Anyway she had the directions to this haunted house thing in her car and I said I would meet her at her car, when I got to my truck (on the ohter side of the restaraunt from her car) I called everyone I could hoping they would call me in a minute or two and tell me there was some big emergency and I had to get home right away. I ended up calling work and the guy on shift called me back in exactly one minute from then which is right after I picked her up at her car and told me I had to come in, I made the mistake of saying the time (which was three hours away from the current time) then got off th phone to break the news to her. She was like, well you only have an hour and a hlaf drive so we can go out for a little bit. You can't imagine the words I was thinking at that time. Anyway we went to this haunted house thign and halfway through she was clinging to me and said I was such a good who would look out for her in fear. I even checked my watch and said look I have to get going soon and she kept trying to drag this date from hell out longer etc etc. Date from hell Itell you, you can't imagine how happy I was she was getting out of my truck and I had no plans of ever seeing this gal again. She had emailed telling me how great of a time she had bla bla bla and I as such a great guy and she wanted to see me again. Well the story of why i had to come in was the other midnight guy broke his leg and such and such so in my email reply i said I would be covering a lot of extra shifts and between that and the farm I didn't know when I would be able to see her again. Anyway that's the short of the story.
Was she ugly or rude? Maybe she isnt as open to meeting new people and opening up to strangers... I know my wife is like that.. I am like you I can talk to anybody about almost anything... I would say maybe give this girl another chance, maybe she was just trying to "feel you out" (nothing personally I mean)... After you get to know her she may open up and be just what your looking for...
You may be right Taz, but she also drove a Chevy. That has to factor in somehwere here doesn't it? And she realy wasn't very good looking, If you could add about 20-30 lbs on her somewehre then she may look halfway decent. She was almost looked sick she was so skinny.
My gut feeling was telling me the whole day to get out of this somehow. I think I'll start listening to my gut more often, it's bigger than my noggin, maybe that means it holds a little more wisdom. LOL

It was a bad enough date that at 8 pm I was headed home. Now granted that I work midnights this is approaching my peak operating time and there is always alot to go and do in a big city, we were just outside of St. Louis, MO so we could have found plenty to do. The way I have explained it to a few buds is as follows; "....it's the worst date I've ever been on, including the night I totaled out the truck." In reference to my first ruck, an 83 F-250 4x4 named Bubba, God rest it's soul as it's in that big graveyard in the sky since March of 1997. It got totaled at the end of a date that also didn't go as well as was expected. Long story there too.
I should have said that at 8 pm I was HAPPILY headed home.
It's close to 7 am and my relief is supposed to be here shortly, I again quote supposed to be here. SHE has a tendency to show up whenever she feels like it. Speak of the devil here she is. Signing out, be back at 2300 tonight.
