I would have to say my Snap-On 1/4" Rachet & Socket set. I can get to every nut and bolt with it. It is small enough to fit into any area I need. I just slid it under my seat with a Screw driver set, pliers, 5/8" spark plug socket with a wrench. That and a roll of duct tape.
My favorite tools have to be my Leatherman Wave and my Snap-on ratcheting screwdriver. The Wave is worth twice the price and the Snappy screwdriver is like an extension of my arm, use both daily.
This isnt the fave but it works well. I just bought a Saftey Seal tire plug set. I had to do one tire and didnt have a good set and I had a mental debate about buying a 60$ plug kit. I have a changer and could have done that, but I bit the bullet and bought it anyway. Next weekend we had a rash of nails, used it 3 times in 2 days. I like the type of plugs and the tools are great. It come with 30 or more plugs and its a tool well worth having on the shelf. It really works well, makes a perfect plug for nail holes, I am very impressed. Well worth the money.
I'd have to say my favorite tool would be my 9yo daughter. She works alongside me as often as she can, and doesn't mind getting dirty. My 1yo daughter is in the learning stages still, but is up and coming.... After that, this website. I've learned so much about my old truck, it's great!
Multi purpose power tool: My Makita 14.4 V cordless drill (5 years old: built 8 decks, 2 wheel chair ramps, 3 sheds, hung numerous exterior and interior doors and used to assemble and disassemble a ton of stuff). The drill is still going strong on the original batteries.
Automotive related power tool: Makita 4" Right Angled grinder. I use it as a cut off wheel, grinder and wire wheel. It comes in handy when the job calls for some creativity (lol).
Carpentry tool: Dewalt 15 AMP, 7 1/4" circular saw (8 years old and going strong: I used it to build 11 decks, 4 sheds and numerous other projects).
Hand tool is a tie between 3 lb beater and my Craftsman Robo Grip pliers: You always can use a big hammer and Channel Locks can't beat the Robo Grip pliers in one hand operation.
id have to say my favorite is my sawzall, next to that is my hammer. the hammer works as a saw, screwdriver, prybar, ... i guess its just good at persuading things
Hmm... probably a fight between my Swiss-Army knife and my 9.6V Makita drill.
The knife gets almost daily use; I feel naked without it; the version I have is rare enough that I buy spares whenever I find them to keep in reserve.
The drill I've had for over 10 years now, gets used on almost every project as my all-around screwdriver. It is a compact version I don't think they make anymore. I have a feeling I'll literally cry when it finally dies and I have to replace it.
