From this thread, I have the following understanding (please correct me if I am wrong).
Yblocks are mounted differently in trucks than cars. In cars the engine block is mounted to the frame using two motor mounts, one on each side of the block. On trucks, the engine is mounted using three mounts, a mount on the front of the engine (timing cover mounted), and the mounting horns on the bellhouing. Engines in trucks are not mounted using the engine block mounts as used in cars.
Yes, you have it pretty much right. I will qualify the statement by saying that T-birds and some other cars (like my 56 Fairlane) had front 'engine rests', but it is essentially right to say that cars use engine mounts on the sides of the block and trucks use engine mounts that are on the bellhousing.
