i have a question

i have a 64 ford f250 with a 292 with a 4 speed and i was wondering if any one else has a 292 with a 4 speed in their in there truck and what kind of gas mileage u guys get if someone does have a 292

Sorry I don't have a 292 (a 65 352 though) but can't imagine you would get any better than around 15mpg out of the 292.

Mike, I have the same (65 with 352 4 speed) what are you gettin MPG?...ill tell ya i haven't figured mine out yet but its not good at all..

Mine has only gotten me around town lately as it is not licensed with current plates so i have not actual mpg numbers. The .060 over 390 in being put together and I should be truly road worthy in a few months... I am anticipating somewhere in the 12-14 range

My 64 F250 also has a 292 with the warner T98 4 speed, have got as high as 14, average about 11mpg.I would like to change the rear end from the 4.11 to a 3.73 to see if improves much.

I dont know what type of driving you do, but that sounds a bit excessive fuel consumption, have you looked at your plugs to see if it is running too rich, also check your ignition timing. If it is too retarded it can increase fuel consumption and reduce power, also check to see that your choke is not part closed.
