So far Ford has fixed all issues or replaced the trucks
Bob, don't let tnmac see this. hehe
I really find it kinda funny how someone who has 23K miles that has had major problems all of a sudden finds this site and does not tell the whole story. Year and build of truck, what the dealer has said or done. Or NOT done. And maybe it's me and my morning mind, but towing a 13K fiver with a 250? Seems like he'd be overweight.
Jeb, jeb, Jeb......WOW where did you get these numbers...I cannot even come up with 20 in this forum........KNOWN buy-backs.......and any where else, NONE of us have any numbers.....hum.....
We at the very least have the 475 number (or whatever it was) from ford itself back early last year.
A challenge to all
I challenge the lovers and haters of the 6.0 (that we have in this forum) to find the total number of known buy-backs in this the 6.0 area.
I'll look forward to reading the results of your research. I just did a search of the 6.0 forum alone for "DSB" and got 29 pages of results. I'm not sorting through all that anytime soon!
No more, hollow statements less cut the BS and show what we know
Cool! Hopefully this will apply to all posts that say things like "this is the most reliable truck", etc, too?

Where is the 475 written..
I am not doing the research, I will make a thread to post in.
....29 pages is taking about the process it is not the number of buy backs
Tim:
Why don't you create a jeb sticky. Then he could have his very own forum / soap box to bash Ford and or the 6.0 specifically.
That way if we felt the need to get into a spirited conversation we could just go there and get on with it instead of having so many threads with new users disrupted with the same old song and dance. Same offense. Same defensive postures no matter who starts them.
If a user needs DSB info I would be happy to direct them to jebs guidence.
A new user finds us. Has issues and BOOM! Thousands of trucks are bad there is no hope. It's no wonder some of these guys go away so quickly.
Sometimes we get so involved with battle we forget that some poor guy had a problem and no one is trying to help.

Too bad you can't tell the difference between opinion and fabrication of fact. That is where the problem is, the outright fabrication in order to misinform the new folks that have no idea that you never tell the truth. Is that why it took them so long to help you with your DSB? All the extra time it took to seperate the fact from fiction?

I'd bet most folks here that have been around any time at all know this is a published number. I don't blame folks for wanting to sweep all the problems under the rug but it's not doing any justice to the folks coming here looking for help and advice to act like this motor hasn't had a very rocky start. Yeah, it's getting better and that's great but things like turning off PI and all the rumors about ford already looking at a replacement for this motor don't inspire a lot of confidence for me.

Ford: Truck Buyers Stuck with Lemon Diesel
Despite early woes, sales are strong

"About 95,000 Super Duty pickups and Ford Excursions with the new diesel have been sold since the engine was launched. Three out of four Super Duty trucks sold are equipped with the optional diesel engine,..."
"475 bought back"
Nothing to turn your nose at. Thanks for the link.
There are a lot on the road up here in Alaska.

Jeb that article is known propaganda that has circlulated for a long time. It is nonsense and is pure fabrication on your part to attempt to justify your Ford hating position with it. We all know you hate Ford and therefore doubt the authenticity of anything you post. Why don't you get in your new Chevy and play in the traffic.

Even based on those numbers, it only comes out to .66% were bought back.
