At one time I was a heavy tobacco user. I mean all forms of it! Smoked up to 4 packs of Marlboros a day, and an occational cigar. I used to open a new sack of Red Man, and dump in a can of Cope. Gives you that extra buzz. One day about 24 years ago while sitting on the can reading, I just gave it all up. Dumped the Red Man with the Cope kicker and the cigarettes into the toilet and never used tobacco products again. Did the great big ole pickle jar on the dresser thing till I saved enough cash to buy a brand new Pick-up. Tell the wife I am going to take up drinking so I can quit, save the money up and get myself a new Porche.
I didn't even know it was relatively possible to smoke 4 packs a day. Did you practically smoke one after the other??
At the most, I'll have myself a chew twice a year, dip NEVER!! Cant handle that stuff.
My Dad's been dipping copenhagen since he was 17 (55 now) and has never had any problems associated with it. (thank the Lord).
I was at work (gas station) and the curious bug got to me, so I bought a can of berry skoal in the pouches... ohhh this stuff is so much easier to use that normal snuff, although it seems you get quite a bit less for your money.
i remember one time...one of my buddies went and bought a can of the pouches for some reason one day. well he put one in, then another, then another...i think he had like 3 of em to equal what he'd normally dip. it was kinda funny...
I was a dipper in high school when I played football, Became a smoker my senior year after football, I found it was too hard to drink beer and dip at the same time plus I didn't have to run several miles or do windpsrints for hours anymore. Later quit smoking and started a job with a lot of downtime and everyone dipped so I took it up again. In high school it was Timberwolf wintergreen or Red Seal, chewed Copenhagen a little but it tasted too much like sawdust. Skoal wintergreen for a long time, couldn't stand berry blend, vanilla wasn't bad but you just can't get that taste out of your mouth. I always liked Kodiak, tried Grizzy and found it is the same thing as Kodiak for half the price so Grizzly it is.
I was dating a gal that, still am on occasion, that is working on her D.D.S. Needless to say when she found a can of skoal in my truck one day I got an earful and then she later sowed me pictures from class of the after effects. I looked at her and said she should be happy, it's great job security. I have cut back to half what I use to dip and eventually hope to quit again.
im STILL clean, i have been stressed too man, just lost my job and i got a 4 mo old daughter whos depending on me....still havent broke down and dipped and both my neighbors / friends dip copenhagen.....i think i have finally licked it....thank God cause theres no other reason or way.....glad to be rid of it...i still have my last can i bought dated jul 2 04' it was 2 days old when i quit jul 4th 04'.....im glad its over its been 12 years too long.
I'm a sucker for the mint. Been dipping for about five years now. Started on skoal wintergreen, then dipped straight for the longest and lately I've been packin the skoal mint in my lip. Hey I'll pack one right now. lol
Dipped since I was in 10th grade, stopped once for two years. Picked it back up, thought I could control it ( what a joke). Now 37 years old I have stopped cold turkey last Feb. I say stopped because I believe you dont ever quit, its just been that long since your last one. Cravings do die down after a couple of weeks but every now and then you do get a craving. The price has definetly helped deter me and thank God for pay at the pump gas stations. If youv'e stopped dont pick it back up, stopping later is harder than the first. If your thinking about trying it think again.
dipped for 7 yrs
at one point in time the price of a can in my area shot up to almost $8 so I finished the can i had and quit
thank goodness I did too .... I have so much more money to put a way.
I was going thru 2 cans every 3 days
good luck to you all
DAMN!, I would have never paid that for chew. Where do you live? When I started chewing cope was only $2 something a can and that was 3 years ago. Cope is the best chew out there hands down, thats what I started with and buy every now and then. I chew huskey now because its $0.87 a can. I can buy 4 days worth for $2.25 Well this chew talk gave me the need for chew.

congrats man! hope u keep it up (bein clean that is)...
thanks man i have my work cut out for me now as i am jobless and my girlfriend is a total "C" word at times...ever just wanna get up and choke someone the funk out till they stop twitching, then give em CPR then choke em again? well sometimes thats how i feel...i used to just go outside and take a dip...now i have to bite my lip and pray to God i never act on my feelings.
