I made it all the way through high school without doing it. And I went to a redneck HS in Colorado where everyone and their mother did it. I was offered a dip when I was in "rehab" on a large grass fire, and been hooked ever since. Been doing copenhagen long cut for the last 3yrs. Started with Skoal wintergreen, yuk. Tried the Copenhafen Black and thought that was nasty.

First time I tried it, I was in college. A bunch of my friends did it. They'd all come back to the dorm after dinner and put a dip in. So I asked them for a pinch. I sat down and let it do it's work. Well, about 5 minutes or so after putting it in, I felt a little dizzy and nausea coming on (never had been exposed to nicotine at the time) I got up and it hit me like a ton of bricks. I fell right over and was feeling progressively ill. Started to get the cold sweats and immediately headed for the bathroom. You all can probably gues what happened next. Did I forget to mention that this was RIGHT after dinner. So needless to say I hadn't touched it after that. A few years later I picked up smoking. did that for a while. Quit that and went back to the chew. Been doing it ever since then. Though every time I smell the wintergreen flavor, my stomach reminds me of what happened the first time I tried it.

I had a coworker that bought a can the apple while at work today. I took a pinch of it and it was great. Good strong apple taste. But when he told me that it was $4.00 for the can, I went back to my good old Grizzly wintergreen

The apple is good. I don't think I'll be buying much though as I am a cheap skate. I use Redseal in all of the flavors, long cut. I like to change it up quite a bit.

What is everyone paying around the country? I pay $5.35 a can for Copenhagen Long Cut. Tax included. For awhile the taxes went up on smokeless here in California, it was almost $8 a can. Glad that tax got squashed.

I used to change it up back when first started dippin, started with Skoal Wintergreen, then Cherry, Straight, and original. But since I started Copenhagen I haven't been able to stand anything else.

I can run with the Wolf for 1.89 a can, or I can go with the Red Seal 2-fer-1 at 3 bucks a two.

i tried it when i was a kid... it was really awful so i tried smoking instead and managed to stick with that for over 10 years.

i quit smoking about 4 years ago and haven't gone back to it

but i never get the urge to get righteous about it. everyone's still welcome to smoke in my vehicle and in my home. i never had a chewer come over though. i guess good manners would require i give him/her an empty tomato can to spit in

almost every guy at my high school has a dip in all the time. i myself am a casual chewer, tin a week give or take a day. right now i got wintergreen redseal, great stuff for the price. around here skoal costs about 4-5 dollars. i bought a tin of apple skoal last week at it lasted 3 days it was that good. tasted like a jolly rancher. my first dip was mint skoal, from my brother. took it when he wasnt home. i got a great buzz. i still remember that day like it was yesterday, but it was 2 years ago. dont chew in school, too many people get caught. wish i could cause it would make the day go alot quicker

I started about a month ago. Both brothers do it so i figured why not try it. I don't do it all the time, but a few times a week. The apple made me sick at my stomach. I like the mint but i don't buy it, i have a friend that does so i'll mooch off him sometimes. I stick to Cope Long cut.

Levi Garrett most the time, Skoal WG, or Cope some of the time.
