Feedback is a funny thing - some people love it, others hate it. I don't worry too much if people don't leave feedback, but it makes me wonder if they got the item and if they were happy with it. I leave feedback on EVERY transaction as I think it is the only way to keep eBay safe other than using good judgement.
One thing you do have to remember - eBay advises that sellers are not to leave feedback until they have received word from the buyer that the item has been received and feedback has been left by buyer.
But most people develop their own methodology for feedback and hope for the best.
