I have 234 feebacks with 97.6% positive. I do a lot more selling than buying. I would love to have 100% positive, but sometimes I get unreasonable customers. I buy a lot of items on eBay, and I'm glad to say that I have never gotten burned on a purchase.
I'm waiting for my first purchase to arrive, clear headlights and sidemarkers for my Superduty. It's been 3 days so should be soon. I paid immediatly as seller required. I'll wait to submit feedback when I get it right? Do you submit negative or neutral feedback for slow service?
I ALWAYS wait to give feedback until the transaction is complete, whether buying or selling. That way if it goes sideways, I can leave the appropriate feedback. If they are slow, but do somthing to make up for it, I will let it slide, but if exceptionally slow, no reason, min neg. I reserve negs for the real bad deals. I haven't had to use it yet, but have left a few neutrals. As far as the time you are at now, allow a week min, as the shipping companies are usually to blame, and you don't want to hold it against the seller when it was out of their control. I also always use insurance, as I have had a few too many packages get busted up. I require it for people buying from me, if theydecline it, I make it quite clear I will not be responsible. It is relatively cheap, and will cover the cost if lost or damaged, no real problems. Had a pol table light get one panel busted out, and we had padded that baby well, still broke it. Insurance paid it no hassle, buyer was happy, although bummed, we worked with them to be able to get their mony out of the insurance. I used to work for RPS, which essentially is the same as UPS, just commercial customers, and I know how the packages are handled...
25---feedback--100% should be 27--but some sellers refuse to leave feedback.
just bought a set of ford headers off of an older lightning, $118.00 with shipping. member since november 2003.
Ebay is the greatest place. Biggest things I've bought are my Fisher furniture speakers with 12" woofers. I bought and sold the same PS2 after it broke on me (even broken it sold for $50). 25 feedback 100% rating.
Ebay has been very good for me, have to refrain myself. Only negative i ever got was from a guy that wouldn't fianalize the transaction and send me money, I gave him one he returned the favor, plus threaten to kill me, and harrass me for over a year. Real sick dude- can't say what all he wrote me - but I guess you get the picture. Other than that freak I aquire alot of stuff I would otherwise never be able to locate around here, have gotten rid of alot as well- is a great source of extra cash- and entertainment as any auction can be. Ebay gets the A+++, high recommended. I have saved big bucks of auto parts, as well.
Question for you ebay vets. I was going to bid on an item ($500) when I read that the seller did not take PayPal and would accept only cashiers check or postal money order. His history indicated he was a new seller with no record. I passed on the bid..... was I being too cautious? Thanks.

I agree with Mike W $1300 for a motorcycle exhaust.....wow
I know it is rediculous. That is the brand new price that will have to be shipped from Japan.
I lost the auction for the used system but now see another one up listed in Canada, I just may bid on it and see what happens.

You did exactly what I would have done. You can never be to cautios when money is involved.

I came across one of them guys once. I left him a neutral cause I figured he wasn't going to leave me anything but to my surprise. He only leaves retalitory feedback. I got neg'ed on that one and its the only neg I have. I move on and don't let it bother me.

I've got a 200 feedback w/ 0 negatives, mostly sell old Ford stuff. Sold a '36 Ford convertible for my uncle (Ford dealer in MS) for $37,000 once. The last 2 things I bought, I got RIPPED, though, bought a huge IR industrial air grinder (takes 80 cfm to run it, and yes I have a 185 cfm compressor), anyway, wouldn't get past idle, then I bought a small Lindsay sandblaster, (supposedly "hardly used"), it was worn slap out, had to spend about $80 to rebuild the valve in the bottom. Anyway, every Tom, Dick & Harry is on there nowadays, gotta be careful!!
