I can't get over someone coming into my forum, bashing my trucks, then telling me what to do, and then after all that telling me to get over it.
Make up your mind....
I read his first quote and didn't really see any Ford bashing. He was ranting and raving, some people do that, he was upset with Ford because he has had problems with his trucks, but he also wanted to be able to come back to a Ford truck after he tried a Dodge. What's wrong with that? I didn't see any need for others to accuse him of being a troll or yelling at him for having problems with his Fords, not his fault.
Oh sorry, I thought this was Ford Truck Enthusiasts, not come in and praise the Cummins and say its so much better than Ford, and that you have nothing but problems with Ford Trucks....
Bran.
I'm sorry to hear of your problems. Does the dealer you've dealt with have a seriously good diesel mechanic? In my very humble opinion- the chances of the local dodge dealer having a qualified diesel (cummins) mechanic are slim.
Again, this is just my humble opinion and with it plus a dollar you can get a cup of coffee in most places.
I think the ford's mech. was a qualified diesel mech. Im sure ford had someone qualified look at it because they had to buy it back. if anything does happen to go wrong with my cummins i will take it to a place here in utah (Gillet diesel) that just about ever diesel owner takes there truck to. not the dealer ship. before i turned my truck back in i called these guys told them what happend and they said it sounds like i got one of they rare lemons that have come threw there shop wether it is chevy, ford, dodge or get this even volvo diesels. i just happend to be the guy that bought one. (or two).By the way i have a friend that still owns a 6.0 and was woundering if anyone new about magnaflows new exhaust? We have heard that it was a great system and that it compares or even exc. the banks power. A few Diesel mechs. i have talked to said that they were getting rid of banks power because of the price how hard they are to deal with and that you are now paying for the name. I cant mention what shops told me this because i dont whant to cause friction between them and the other company.
Volvo Diesel? I know they make tractor rigs, but pickups?? Or are you talking about the cars? It wouldnt supprise me if one of the big three had a truck that was sold in other countries that used Volvo. Car makers seem to do wierd things like that. Ever heard of the Ford Mondeo? Its a sedan you wont find in the US but its a somewhat midsize sedan with the kind of styling of a Mercedes. Kinda makes you wonder what other vehicles we miss out on.
My friends had dodge and just try and keep that tranny together-- I wouldn't get one for nothing. Again they might have gotten a lemons like you seemed to have. My brothers inlaws have a used truck store and they said whatever you do don't get a chevy for hauling they hate to even see them come in as trades and they usually take them to auction. Seems like you have had bad luck- I wish you better.
