Cool disapointed owner

Well i can say i have been a ford owner all of my life, but these new fords realy DISAPOINT me. I bought a 2001 F350 and had a ton of problems with it from the glow plugs to the trany. Well i traded that truck in for a 2004 F350 6.0. Still nothing has changed, i am still haveing problems with this truck. Started with the injecters to the turbo to the glowplugs to the trany. so i am sorry to say this crap of a truck is getting sold and i am going with the more reliable proven and longest lasting motor, the CUMMINS. Yes the CUMMINS you can say what you want about dodge, ford, and chevy but dodge has proven time and time again what motor will run the longest, cleanest, strongest with the least amount of problems the CUMMINS. It has less working parts no glow plugs and is getting all the power from a 6 cyl not an 8 cyl and still pushes more horse (350) torque (600) and has less of an rpm range to do that. Plus the new dodge has a 10 year 100,000 mile war. and has a bigger payload. We all know the best truck would be dodges axles fords body chevys int. the Cummins with fords new trany( if that trany holds up). Ford please do somthing to bring me back!!!

Gee sorry to hear about your problems. Another owner could come on here and have no problems with the same type trucks. Hey get the dodge and keep us posted on any problems you have with that truck. Hopefully none. Good Luck

You may not have a problem with the engine in the dodge, but wait until you see how much torque that sucker puts out when the tranny falls off.

Guy’s help me out here. He stated that the Cummins has no glow plugs, but I thought that all diesel have them for cold starting? My dad had an old Perkins and they had them. Heck they are in boats that I have worked on that were diesel powered.

P.S. Grass is always greener on the other side.

Hey Bran I am right there with you buddie. The only thing crappy about the new Dodges is that the interior (too me) is a little too plastic. But the Cummins is a tried and true very strong motor with much more potential then stock allows. Now, that motor isnt so god awfully loud anymore wich is a plus, no more shutting the motor off in drive throughs and to talk to your passenger.
I do have to clear something up with the 6cly vs 8cyl comment though. While it IS a 6cly is still bigger then Chevys and Fords. You have pistons the size of bar stools. That in-line 6 design is the best set-up for a motor. I still say that Fords best motor ever was that 4.9 I-6 gas job in the F-150. Anyhow, good luck on your truck buddie, if I dont see you at the dealership, let me know how it is.

To have 2 ford trucks with as much problems as he had is rare indeed. Between my Dad and I weve had many ford trucks.None of them ever gave us much trouble period. Its rare for a ford guy to go to a dodge. To me its a step in the wrong direction. If dodge is so good how come they never gain many sales every year. The main problem is there not good. Who noes maybe its a dodge salesman.

Im sorry some of you guys took this the wrong way. as some of the other posts stated a was just ranting and raveing. i still think ford is the best truck on the road, but with all the problems i have had i thought i might try somthing new. As i stated before a am a TRUE FORD OWNER i have a 1976 FORD Bronco i had a 1977 F150 i also had a 1994 F150 and with all of tose combined still had more problems with these last two trucks. NO i am not a dodge sales man i was just stating the fact. if you recall i said ( i think) that the dode auto trany wasnt that good anyway. My father who is also a ford fan bought a 2000 dodge 3500 and has had no problems what so ever yet.he also has 213,000 miles on that truck and it still runs like a champ. My 2001 ford only had 110,000 miles and that is when all the problems started. Also my uncle and good friends dad has the 6.0 and has also had a ton of problems with this truck. so once again sorry some of you took this to hart instead of just another ford owner doing a little ranting<!b*^&#ing>. I do like this web sight even though i just found it last night. So who knows if ford fixes there probs. then i will for sure by another one and give it one more shot. P.S. for those of you who dont know much about diesels cummins does not have glow plugs never has never will. cummins uses a type of coil by the manifold to heat up the air to 60 deg. Also for who was asking what went wrong with the trany, glow plugs and the turbo. the trany just plane blew up all the guts when i was towing a 30 foot fifth wheel on I15 at about 103,000 miles the entire trany. Gillet diesel told me it was a ford def. as for the glow plugs they went out twice once at 45,000 miles and again at 90,000 miles. the turbo siezed for why we dont know. All i was told is that ford would not cover it. same probs on the 6.0 just not as bad.

EDIT:

Sorry i meant to say no cummins has ever had or will have glow plugs.

who cares about the trany

Thats to bad. but again i never said dodge had the best trany. i just said that i think the motor so far is a better motor than the power stroke or the duramax. you fix the trany or just get a bullet proof trany after yes they do make it for FORD,DODGE and chevy for about 4000 bucks. that means even the ford trany nore theallison can handle much more than stock horse or torque but the is an easy soulution what about every thing els that is went wrong. just a coincidence? i dont think three differnt people all with the same problem is a coincidence..

Bran- dont lesten to what others say on here. You have every reason in the world to try out another truck. You layed down more facts then opinions and the response you got made me sick to think I am a fellow Ford truck owner with the others in the forum.

Hey Bran sorry if we got a little hot and heavy around here. I apologize for anything I said. Your post answered everything for me. I myself have said some good things about the other brands and these guys will get on my case pronto. We all want to think Ford is best and Ill always think they will.be Ford truck loyalty is pretty incredible if you think about it. Once a person gets a Ford he gets another one. Hey youll be back Ford guys always are that way once a Ford guy always a Ford guy even if he drives another brand. Fords the benchmark to measure up to. Sorry for rude welcome your getting here we take Ford very seriously here. We are always skeptical of a 1st post that knocks down Ford right off the bat. Sorry again for mine and others rudness.I apologize.

Smile Thank you for the 2nd welcome

I just wanted to say thank you for those of you who replied the 2nd time and explained why you were upset. I understand and once again did not want to rubb people the wrong way. i do still own a 1976 Bronco that i am building from the frame up for MOAB( Jeeps are 4 girls). That is just a little fued i have going with my buddie who owns a <!bad a*!>jeep so no offense to you jeep owners. I think i have a lot of info to offer on this sight and a lot of knowledge to gain. so i hope to here from you while i am rebuilding my bornco. Once again thank you for the welcome. P.S. I did happen to get the auto only because if have a few connections for the so called bullet proof trany and my wife hated driving the 2001 F350 because it was a standard and yes as we all know she does wear the pants. So ill see how it goes and keep you posted.
