No more L's??
Ive heard this in several places. The new Lightning concept that was goin to come out in 06 has been put on delay for 2 or more years or maybe permentley. I heard that Ford couldn't get the tranys to hold up to the power of the new 500 horse engines. Now I dont know how true this is but if it is it's very disapointing news. The Dodge ppl will rub it in our faces for a long time. But id like to see them keep the title for the fastest production truck for 13 straight years like Ford did....

Well it's pitiful. First they take away our supercharged 5.4 Harley supercrew F150 and replace it with a regular superduty with fancy paint and what? Emblems and maybe a fancy seat? Now they mill around and make the 04 lightning the same as the 03 bodystyle and have nothing out for 2005. Get on the ball boys!! Don't tell me they can't make a transmission to take 500 horsepower they can make one to handle 1000 horsepower if they had to. The perfect Lightning would be a new body with the V10 supercharged and a 6 speed transmission. Am I right? Make sure those sparkplugs stay in the heads and slaughter that Dodge. They also can keep the price right on it. I know Mr. Ford has enough money. Sell those things for $1000 over production costs and PUT THE DODGE IN ITS GRAVE!!!!!

Nothing else they could use a viper-spec t-56. There have been rumors of the L being discontinued, but I have heard of people seeing test-mules out and about. This thread here, even though might be just BS gives us some hope. Ive been there since Jan 03, and there has been alot of discussion about the new L, they even have its own forum. http://www.svtperformance.com/forums...hreadid=125091

It's a business decision," said Alan Hall, SVT spokesman. The official line is that the Lightning has been "postponed," and not killed, but if it is revived, it will be 2008 or later before we see one. SVT has gone from three vehicles in 2004 - the Lightning, the Cobra Mustang and the SVT Focus - to none in 2005

It will really suck if the L's were killed because they are such good looking trucks and they have the power to prove they are no show queen's. But if they don't come out with a new L then I guess all there is to do is to supercharge those 5.4's and get level10 transmissions to build you a tranny that can take 500hp's at least.
