40 plus year old trucks are hot commodity right now. When selling .......I start high, because you can always come down to your bottom dollar to make the sale. If you start low it's kind of hard to pull off that raising the price trick in the middle of the deal. Lol
Yep, I agree.
Just purchased another 96 F-350 crew cab, and wanted my cash stash back so I opted to sell the 78 that I couldn't seem to get fixed up. All original 78 F-100 Ranger stepside. Very little rust.
A boy in Jeff City bought it.

Welcome to the FTE Missouri chapter Jake from Marshall and the "Jim The Wonder Dog Museum". Feel free to stop by the monthly chat and BS thread, we all kinda hang out there and keep tabs on one another. There are a few of us hard core Mo chapter folks that are there daily, probably the none Facebook crowd. Lol
Don't forget to join the chapter too. You can join the MO chapter by clicking the "Join Chapter" link at the top of this page or, you can join through your UserCP.(User Control Panel)
When you have clicked on the "Join Chapter" next to your state, and scroll down the page to where there is a Join Chapter button to click.
Your request will be completed once your chapter leader (me lol) accepts your request. I wish I had a cool chapter sign up gift, but that is just not in the cards today. We are going to try and have a get together (G2G) BBQ/hang out sometime in the spring around the Springfield or Sparta area.
Hello, my name is Mark and I am a Fordtruckaholic. I admit that I am powerless over Ford truck and that my life and finances has become unmanageable. I live 5 miles from Mt. Vernon, MO. 2 miles exactly from the Chesapeake exit at Hwy 44 and 174. I reside on the southside of 44. Ever since I had my first ride in a Ford truck at a young age (I'm 61yo now) my bank account has spiraled into despair, my family thinks I'm a loser (they all drive Chevy's and I always blow their doors off. They should learn how to weld. You tell me who the loser is!.) My boss has threaten to fire me numerous of times as I never answer his calls when I'm at home. He suspects that I might be wrenching just a bit too much. My wife thinks I spend too much time with my truck and not enough time with her. I have come to admit that I have no control over Ford trucks as I am on my 5th truck and have also experimented with 2 Ford vans, a 1970 E100 and a 75 E250 as well as a 79 lifted Bronco. I often wake up under my 83 F100 at all hours after blacking out during a wrenching frenzy. My wife is upset as we have no money in the account to feed the cats and the dogs. I lie as to what I spend the money on. She does suspect that I am not being honest due to the growing pile of empty boxes from Summit Racing. I have come to this site seeking support and advice from those who also share my addiction.

Welcome to FTE and the Mo chapter "Forders club". We here at FTE Mo chapter AKA "Ford truck hoarder u bet we are club local 219". You are off to a start and step in the right direction to handling the addiction by exactily doing what you're doing. Just admitting it, is a powerful move to come to grips with it. And that you have done very well. Hang in there. Admit admit admit, and to relax hit up sites like Summit Racing , Jegs and 4wd Parts. More to follow on that later.
Nice to see how you also can notice how the "habit" is causing you and your family some wallet anguish. And some distance creating acts of passing and blowing off them reaitive's chebby doors. I recommend you at least yell when passing ("BUY A WELDER, AND LEARN HOW TO USE IT IF YOU WANT TO RACE ME.... looser.) The looser in the end is purely a motivational tactic to make them gain speed thru quilt, never works on their part.
And you go flying by because you have FORD power. The yell back at them when you pass them again, "Now go to VO-TEC to learn how to weld". You can really mess then up by doing it in reverse. The doors coming off like that can take a set of fenders off also.
Change your phone # to get the boss from bothering you when working on your truck, moving might be an option to totally ditch the boss. Wife wants to spend more time with you..... get here her own creeper/safety glasses and a battery powered grease gun and tell her to get with it under their. She is replaceable...well not really since they are obviously the only ones to put up with our truck shenagions.
Also in true Forder fashion, get a PO box at the post office in the next county over, that way the Summit/Jegs and Speedway boxes can build up at the PO and not let the perviable parts cat out the perviable parts box that you bought more Ford truck parts.
I drive by Mt Vernon all the time, so if you need to Secure/Hide/Stash parts let me know if I need to stop by with a trailer.
Hey Mark! If you came here seeking help for your problem, you probably came to the wrong place as we all seem to have the same problem. If you REALLY want to spend money on a Ford truck, build a monster truck. (see my avatar)
I too am afflicted with the too many Fords, too little money but hey ya gotta do what ya gotta do. Until you drive out to Idaho to pick up a $350 56 Panel that's made into a trailer, there's probably hope for ya. I did this and now know I'm a goner. But it's probably not worth taking those odds. Embrace the bug with gusto and enjoy every minute looking for parts, working on or driving these blue oval wonders.
Would that be the Oreilly warehouse in Springfield? My brother, Kevin Hamm has been there for about 25 years.
Me and Shorty actually work in the Customer Service Dept. Shorty AKA Kevin Davis has been with Oreilly a lOOOONG time. I am only on my 6th year cause they didn't give me credit for my 3 years of part time. part time was 32 hours per week.
Welcome to the Mo Group.
