Welcome to the group, you're maybe a half hour from me when home, I'm in Russellville. I'm in Columbia usually twice per week for work. The van looks mighty cool.

I am based in Kabul right now, at the NKC camp. Last winter wasn't too bad here, so I guess we are overdue for some bad weather... My team just happens to run armored Fords. Mostly Excursions, but do have a couple armored F series, including an F550 that's been converted to SRW short bed gun truck. It's a cool truck but it doesn't exactly ride like a Cadillac... Were you at Phoenix?

Back in the day I lived at the Kabul Airport, on the airport side NATO compound (KAIA). We use to make the drive around the end of the runway daily to work on the new Afghan compound in the presidential hanger, before KAIA moved over there. You know the one that is burned out now from the rocket.....

I have driven soft side's to Phoenix, Edgers and KKMC back in the day, but my preferred mode of transportation was to be in the air in my Mi-17. It was alot different place in 06, I left as they were building the new KAIA across the runway in 09.

I was really shocked at the changes when I was there a few months ago.

Stay safe.

Yep, things have really changed. Most of the camps, including Phoenix, are gone. I have definitely spent my fair share of time in the Mi's. We've had several contracted carriers to transport us around Afghanistan. Some of the memories of those flights still make me cringe.

My ex-girlfriend lived up there for a while, she originally came from Gower MO though. Trombogon, I moved over to 39th and Jackson Ave., so not that far from where you live now lol.

Howdy steve76, my brother inlaw is from Kingsville and use to live there with my sis, (he doesn't now and she does), so I have been to Holden quite # of times. We use to go to the Kingsville Labor day/Memorial Day sale all the time years ago. I still come up that every so often.

You know you have a fellow FTE member up your way in Pleasant Hill.

I'm from Odessa 35 miles east of KC. I recently purchased a 79 F150 4x4 with the 351m and 4 speed. It's my summer project. I'm hoping to have it road worthy by this fall, in time for hunting and snow days.
