Are you just talking about the K&N prefilters Smitty or are these something different? I still need to get that hood to test the cowl induction but I should probably get the truck running first. I'll move the ignition into the cab this week if I get a few minutes and that should solve all my electronic woes.
It looked to me like you were talking about the foam ones that go around the filter. The ones I'm talking about are made of a thin polyester material that they say has been pre treated to repel water. I'd recommend them to keep the filter clean, and I sprayed the ones on my ATV to see if they'd stay dry inside, and they did pretty well.

As soon as i do the lift and SAS i will do the same thing, but as it sits with stock suspension i can't get a piece of plastic of sheetmetal in there without interference from the tirerods.
