I will post some detailed pics, dirty but detailed!, after I get the film devloped. I will try and get the dyno graph on a FLOPPY so I dont have to wait to find a scanner.
Tom, I totally understand what your saying. You start making boost at 3200-3500. At 4K rpm's Id suspect like 2-4 PSI of boost.
First did a pull in 4th gear, and couldnt complete it because of the rev limiter. I did manage to get
222.2 RWHP 279.4 RWTQ@ @4150 RPMs
Then we tried 2 pulls in third gear to avoid the limiter. Unfortunately, we got belt slippage (which means the blower is no longer making boost) at around 4400 RPMs, right in the middle of my powerband
First pull was crap IMHO, and netted
208 RWHP@4300 RPMs, but also went WICKED lean
256.5 RWTQ@ 4750 RPMs
Third pull was worse.
206.2 RWHP@4000 RPMs
246.1 RWTQ@4750 RPMs
To make it worse, a fitting came loose and I lost about 1/4 quart of oil on their floor...LoL...leak stopped after we shut it down, and hasnt leaked since.
Either the BAP (boost-a-puump) cant keep up with the added air, or There is another issue with vaccuum somewhere....
Back to thhe garage for some troubleshooting...I will keep you all posted.
Garrett
PS, the first pull in 4th, it spiked in power around 75 MPH....was a neat thing to watch.
hmm, that's pretty odd. You'll make more power for sure once you get a decent run in. Our trucks make peak power between 4800 and 5000 RPM's. Once you get a pull to peak at that point, you should get the real numbers which will obviously be higher.
Yeah, You arent totally correct, it stopped making boost when the belt slipped, which was 3800, so it ran like crap.....still trying to figure it all out.
