To tell you the truth, I bought the cam off of Ebay from a guy who used to race FE powered fords back in the sixties and seventies, the cam was a cam built by ford, way back in the day, i would suppose when he used to race, it was still new in the box, I had the cam card, but I think i accidently through it away, but i remember seeing something like .486 or .468 or something in that range, I know one thing, it has a lopy idle when set at the stock timing marks, so I advanced the timing a little to smooth it out
U guys are dissapointin me telling me I dont have a chance, I think i am gonna go look for a cheap nitrous kit, and just hook up a 50 shot just in case, I am hopin i dont need it, but it will be there if i do, I am afraid of blowing that engine up though, but i cant lose, I would never hear the end of it.

Practice launching the truck without all the wheel spin - you'd be suprised how much that affects the results.

i'm sure the 305 puts out only 170hp and thats for the later 80 camaros. With a 5 speed they are in the 15s and with an auto about 16s.

hey fordman428 i was justlooking up a 1985 for a mid eighties specs. the regular jo 305 4bbl had 155hp. With an auto the car would be looking at high 16s at best! What year is his car anyway?
a budy of mine had a mid 80's camero with 305 it wasent quick at all not inpressed you could take him easy...his was a stick with headers and true duals.....

i said before it was an 84 but i just talked to him and its an 86 with the 305 H.O. with TPI "tuned port injection"
1986 305 tpi rated at 190hp and 285tq. A low 16s car so if you cam match that or better he can take him. A comparison of net power is about 265hp for you.
data is fromwww.thirdgen.org
it appears he has a z28 or iroc camaro and the funny thing is the 1985 tpi had 215hp but was detuned for 1986. A cam change they say and the list the lift specs for 1986. A 25hp loss from a change ouch!!!!
