what kind of 1/4 mile ETs can I expect from my truck? I have a '67 F-250 with a stock 352 with the exception of headers, dual mandrel bent 2.25' exhaust with glasspacks, NP435 4-spd, and 4.10 gears? It is 2wd. What kind of power ETs should I be getting, and what kind of power should I get if I switch to a Ford 4v intake with 600cfm Ebock? How well could it perform with a tri power setup?
Eriks, I guess it all depends on how fast you can shift it? That tranny was meant for towing and off roading...your top loader are the speed shifter trannies, 2V 352,with headers, you might pull a mid 16 out of it,maybe a high 16, Mph maybe 75+ this is just a guess...
I dont know what your truck weight is.. Tire Diameter..and a few other things?
But..a 4Barrell and a cam will wake it up alot..to go along with your hedder's..
And if you plan on racing it on occation ? I would dump the stock 4 Spud, and put in a toploader or an automatic C6..... JMO.....
Tremec just came out with a 500 and 600 foot lb rated TKOs. There are also make bellhousings to bolt it up to the FE. I might take this path someday after I learn to rebuild the C6. I love racing with a stick but I was afraid of the stock TKO which was only rated at 475 ft lbs. Dropping the clutch with slicks usually ends up tearing the tranny up. The 600 should hold it fine.
The O/D ratio on the 600 can be bought at .64 which would be a dramatic RPM drop.
Sean, you could always use a broader Comp C6, with the wide ratio gears in it, and run an air shifter..Just a tought?? My gears are turning??
And thanks for pulling My thread? I dont remember alot of last night??
But, I do know one thing...I woke up with a smile on my face? LOL!!
I didn't pull your thread. I was TDY all last week. I am having trans king build me a tranny right now. I was going to go with Jay but I know people who have used transking and were happy. Do I think they build a better C6 than Jay? I hardly doubt it but they are the ones who made my valve body and I am totally fed up with shifting problems. Trans King was slightly cheaper too. If I were starting from scratch I would probably have had Jay build it. I was going to rebuild it myself but I am finding that time has become a precious commodity lately and I want it done right. I also have a 10" 3800+ stall sitting in the shed waiting to be put in with the new tranny.
On the fords getting bad mileage thing, I think I may know why........ The same guy who owns ford also has his fingers on chevron. You know how chevron always stresses its gas is the choice for fords factory testing etc......
On the performance deal, go grab a 2v off an old fairlane or other ford fullsize fe powered car. The 2v off the cars look bigger and certainly feel stronger.
My old worn out 360 2v with strait pipes ran 16.1second 1/4 mile with a t-18 and 4.10 rear, shifted outtta 2nd gear at 6200rpm just in time to let the float bowl refill before I dumped her into third for a 5000rpm shift into 4th for a 85+mph 1/4 mile. That was some golden driving but I think the wrist pins got loose after that.
Throw a good couple hundred lbs in the back, rev her up to 5000rpm then dump the clutch and hold the pedal down.... Makes a good difference in traction and you need the rpm to avoid any bogging down accosiated with to much tire grab at first....... You want to break loose but not wastefully spin the tires

Russ
I can shift it pretty fast, and my truck weighs 4200lbs, with 29 inch tires, and a slightly raked body style. With a Petronix, cast 4v intake with Edelbrock 600 cfm, where do you think I stand in power and 1/4s?
Is there anyone with a '67 F250 with a 352 2v with headers, dual exhaust, 4.10 gears that weighs around 4200lbs, and has a 1/4 ET or some power numbers to share? I would like to see what I can get from my 352.
seems light to me. Mine weighed in at 4900lbs with some traveling gear. I probably had 100-200 lbs additional for the monster gas tank (which was not full).
Greg, I have 3 tanks on mine, In witch I'am going to pull the last one its 35 Gallon.. and run off the center tank.. I think mine ways 5200lbs with my fat butt in it?
But it didnt have the aluminum wheels on it at that time, but the tire weight probably made up for that?? Shoot I take off my CHP push bar I used when drad racing, There's another 50LBS there??
I;m quitw sure the new rubber wont weigh as much?? Oh well?? State off confusion! As Always!!!
