Got a 92 Full size for a daily driver. Loved Fords after growing up with Chevies. Also have a '77 F150 4X4 with mega power and a '95 F250 for major towing of the camper and motorcycle trailer.
The Bronco has a straight 6 with a 5-Speed. This was a Forest Service rig from Calif. Clean, low mileage with a lot of Caulk boot holes in the flooring. Just like an Ever-ready battery-takes a licken and just keeps on ticking.
Buddy in high school had a 79' that was 17 shades of rust and drank a quart of oil with every fill up. I've wanted one ever since. In 96 my wife wanted a minivan. Dealer wouldn't give it up for the price I offered and my 1994 XLT was on the used lot. Convinced her that it was about the same size as a minivan. This summer I come back from 6 1/2 years in Italy. She'll get a new car and the Bronco is finally mine! Patience pays.
My dad is a Ford Mechanic, Ford is in my blood. I have 7 brothers and we all drive ford.
Love to 4X and Broncos are the best full-size bang for the buck. I have a boat and sandrails so Jeep (one brother loves 'em) was out. I have a trailer and I'm not a contractor or a prostitute so I don't need a bed everywhere I go.
#1. reason, when I'm at the top of a giant dune on a beautiful day with the top off.. It just feels like I'm doing something right.
p.s. I've got two kids and trucks don't go w/ car seats.
In 1980 my dad bought a black XLT (302) with a factory rollbar and I was hooked. I got my first in 89 and it also was a black 1980 XLT (302). The only reason I sold it was that the rear brakes were frozen up and I was going to school out of town and did not have my tools and nobody wanted to work on the brakes.
After school, marriage, kids, and new house and new car for wife I made the choice, new car or old Bronco......hehe EASY decision.
I respect the Dodge and the Chevy 4x4's but for all around bad a$$ 4x4 truck that can go from the woods/mud/snow/flood/towing/(insert use here) to load up the family and lets go to dinner, NOTHING comes close.
My reasons are very simple here, First off I grew up in an all (CHEVY) family, they (FAMILY) almost successfully brainwashed me at an early age. Then I bought my first Ford product!!1967 cougar built 351w 3speed manual 4.10 gears posi(never lost to a CHEVY ever!)from then on I was all Ford and now I'm thinking I really need therapy here!! Ford this Ford that!! but....I love it! I've owned well over 25 different types of Fords, either complete or for donors. the I bought my first Bronco a very beautiful original owner Silver Anniversary Bronco 302 AOD4speed looked brand new, paid 7,000 for it. The first thig done was a 3" lift and 3"body lift then 35"s.I started to take it off road time and time again then i started to see some scratches here and there(these scratches seriously made me depressed!!) so OFF I went looking and shopping for the Beast that would woop on all of my Chevy driving buddies!!Found it!!!Whooo hoooo!!! 300.001983Bronco,Started with a 300 six, first things are first ya know? 3" suspension lift and a 3" body liftand 35"s, then lots of hours of transformation, three years later and none of those Chevy buddies can out do me ever, and I now,I never hear any degrading or insulting remarks from them about Ford!! Hell if they had paided me for everytime i have pulled them out I seriously could retire!! Ford will always be number 1 to me forever! Still transforming the beast( A.K.A the Blue Knight), straight axle conversion this year and more lift and bigger tires!! Last years big project was the 460 swap,460 bored 60 over, forged flat top pistons, daul roller timing chain, 530 lift comp cam, steel crank, ported and polished heads and intake and heads milled 20 thousanths, eldelbrock 460 performer intake and edelbrock 750cfm carb. with all of this said should i have to say more?

she can go topless and not get into any trouble with the law....
She had a heart transplant not too long ago....and infact today spanked a
Chebbie duramax truck with at least 1.5 truck lengths from a dead stop.
He was amazed....
When my Godfather got his Bronco I decided I was going to own one....
a decade later I got one.....88 Eddiebauer with a 5.8 got the 32's and did lots of mods...
I love it.....only other car I can imagine myself in is a beefed up Excursion Diesel with a lift kit and nice suspension/wheels and exhaust along with a sound system.
at 6"4" tall, 275 lbs, I make all other trucks and cars look very small....and leg room is at a premium.....seems most Americans have stubby legs!!!
Well it all started when i was a kid, SAY BACK ABOUT 1980. My Pop [step dad, awesome dude!!] was an old racer, dirt track NASCAR,NHRA, NHBA,etc.etc. Well my oldest brother[step brother] bought a husk of a 71 Bronc. My old man being an ardent tinkerer decided they would shoe horn in his old 427 side oiler, complete with the crossways dual quad intake from his NASCAR days[63-65] and use parts on hand.....soo after cutting domes off pistons and trading the cam for something more streetable etc.etc. My brother had a thoroughly borderline streetable Bronco, the damn thing could do a wheelie, it was incredible and riduculous all at the same time, he wrecked it within two weeks and put himself and three friends in the hospital, they were very lucky. This left quet an impression on a 12 y/o kid.
Later when it was my turn I had a 53 ****** p/u, and one of my best friends had a 78 Bronc,351m/4spd. I always loved that vintage of Bronco, it was a great truck but then an illegal immigrant with no insurance ran a red and totaled it for him, that Bronc probably saved his life. Later my folks got a 79 xlt 400m c-6 that was a buet, all us boys wanted it....folks sold it....damn!!!!! Then oldest brother[ you remember him] got a 79 xlt with a 460 transplant......what a rig........sold it....damn!!!!!!!! My best friends dad had ANOTHER 79 XLT with a 429...my buddy was brain dead, he could have had it for like 1200.00....it was immaculate but he showed no interest untill after his dad traded it in. Well anyway now I have a 96 XLT with a 5.8 and my buddy liked it soo much he got one just like it. It hauls more than my old Tacoma did, gets one mile to the gallon less on the highway, my dog can ride safely in the back as well as compadres and as others have said chicks dig it....nuff said.
I am 17. When all my freinds started getting 4x4 I knew I couldn't let them show me up. So what better way than to get a Bronco. My dad called me one day and said he found a really good deal on an EB Bronco and the rest is history...... I can't ever think of anything better to drive. When I get more money I will just fix it up, I don't think I could every sell it.
i got intersted in them wheni was a kid my uncles had them i always watched them fixing them and puting on there lifts i got inspired you can say so now i own my own and i brought back memories so thats why i love my bronco plus they are the best offroad vehicles out there today i think
