well..i got my 87 green/tan bronco fall of last year..was looking around for a fullsize truck..maybe a bronco/blazer, saw this one sitting ont he street..somehow i was looking backwards while riding in the passenger seat..on a side street..and miraculously saw it somehow haha, i still dont know why i was looking that direction..but i guess its just the bronco magic
i got it for the winter...a good lake vehicle..can put dogs in the back or backseat..have a nice big backseat for seating 5..and its a v8 fullsize truck with a topper..whats not to love
i probably will be parting with this truck soon..within 6 months, going to upgrade to something newer..a 351 or better (302 now) and no rust haha, got the classic wheel well rust..a lil int he tailgate..and along the runing boards, and then its popping up by the "ford" lettering and other places..way too expensive to fix now
hopefully will be getting a bronco..but we'll see, it may end up being a 92-94 fullsize blazer, or a tahoe or something..i want to stick to a bronco...intereriors and everything else i like alot more..and of course its a bronco, but we'll see what i can find eh
Well, let's see, my wife had a car, I had an F150, we decided to downsize to one vehicle, saw it on a dealers lot, 2 minutes into the test drive I knew we had our new ride. That was back in '95, haven't seriously considered giving it up since.
1) it's a real truck, nice and big, strong, can haul stuff
2) wife likes it, she feels safe driving it
3) not sure what it is but there's something down to earth and 'real' about the darn thing, just feels right somehow if that makes any sense
Driving my second Bronco, first was an 86. It's big, intimidating, looks good, accepts modifications well, and is more of a truck than anything Chevy or Dodge has ever come up with.
Oh, did I mention the sucker is practically indestructable.
Well i like anything the top comes off of : ) Uh except blazers and jeeps....so the leaves broncos and women!!!And I love buying gas,and ......well.......chevys suck!!!

gotta agree with that, one day i was on some backroads, goin' faster than i should, and the thought crossed me of what if this road suddenly ends? it was one of those thigs where you get a mental image of your bronco rolling( ) but i somehow felt comfortable, and haven't looked back since.

We were Chevy people, looking all over the East Coast for that perfect truck. We wanted an Xcab longbed 4X4 with a V8.
After many months of searching, we drove by a local dealer and this beautiful blue/silver Bronco just caught my eye. I asked the hubby why we hadn't been looking at Broncos all this time. He said he thought they were too old (for the loan approval).
We decided to look anyway, and I fell in love with it on the spot. Turns out 96 was in our loan range, the Bronco was garage-kept, low miles, and immaculate, and we went back the next day to "just see what they're asking for it." We bought it 20 minutes later. (And we paid almost book value...ack...)
We will keep it because, well, I'm a chick and I dig it. 'Nuff said!
Its one tough truck, looks good, rides good and can be repaired in the driveway. It has just about all the advantages of a truck for hauling and a car for passengers. I have owned 5 Broncos, 2 78's, 2 79's and a 87 in just about every configuration from mild to wild and I loved em all. The later models are nice for all the creature comforts while the 78 and 79's were and still are the toughest 1/2 ton around.
I had a Jeep Cherokee for a few years and it seemed like I had to replace something major every year. I hated working on it too. Just not enough room under that hood (or anywhere else on the rig) to work comfortable. One single repair every year that was around $1500. Other than that, I loved the Jeep - lots of room in the back and decent 4x4 ability. I'm not saying it was a crazy off-road vehicle, but when I did get off, it did just fine.
Finally had a chance to get rid of it - sold it to my dad-in-law for $500 (by the way, my parents got it for me after I made a crappy vehicle purchase decision! And my dad rebuilt the motor on it for me too! - Great parents!) Shared my wife's pickup with her for nearly a year while checking out various Broncos, Ramchargers, Blazers, etc. Found a sweet Bronco where my folks live. Dad and I took it for a test drive. 5-Speed, red, 5.0, 86 I think. Guy changed his mind about selling it.
Kept looking and a friend told me about this 87 in his shop for repair. Guy needed some carb work and wanted to sell it. Took it for a test drive, with my wife, and made a deal and a down payment (waiting for IRS refund to come through) that night.
The rest is history. Love everything most of you have already said. Tight turn radius, etc. Best of all, I love getting under the hood. There is so much room to work! And I never get mad working on it!
Well, I really needed an upgrade from my 91 ranger. I needed something that I could fit a couple passengers in, and I really wanted a V-8 and 4x4 for the work I do. I had my eyes open for either a extended cab F-series, or a Bronco, in the 92-96 body. Came across my new toy, a 94 EB bronco with the 5.8 and all the extras for about $3000 less than the blue book. I love it. Just can't wait til the summer when I can pull the top and go an play in the local dunes and 2-tracks. And I'm jumping for joy now that I almost have it up to 13 mpg after a tuneup.
Ive always had pick-ups and a car for the wife, and we always had to take two vehicles when we were pulling the boat or four wheelers. The Bronco lets us all go together and pulls both trailers without a problem. This is my first Bronco and Ive been very impressed with how it handles on crappy roads and in the deep snow (had to test it in the yard through some deep drifts). My wife took it over recently as the roads have been bad and she has a pretty long trek to work and I only go about a 1/4 mile. The bonus of that is that she loves it and has been talking about a lift kit and some "real" tires....
And as far as the gas goes, Ive been driving my '74 with a 390 and 33's, so Im actually saving money !!!
Ever since my older brother got one as his first vehicle when he was in high school, I've wanted one.
Then a couple of years ago, I found myself a soon to be single mom. I needed something dependable for commuting in the summer and winter, to get me and my kids around. I knew I wanted a truck and I was actually going to purchase a Jeep. But the day I went to sign the papers, I saw this Bronco that someone had just traded in. I fell in love, and now she's mine.
I haven't attempted to take the top of yet, but I love having that option. It's very roomy, and big enough to make me feel safe. Oh, and the kids and dog love it too!
