Intelligence is obviously not a requirement for membership. In fact, any display of common sense would probably bar a person from ever joining.

A while back they were putting up billboards telling kids not to drink milk.

You know, the membership here is pretty diverse, and yet not a single person has weighed in on the PETA side of this issue. When I first heard of this PETA group I envisioned it as a fairly large group of people. After reading all the responses, I’ve changed my mind and would find it interesting to know how many people were actually PETA members. It now seems, at least to me, like that PETA is probably a handful of whacko’s that run around tormenting the populace. If so I have to ask again, why this group of loonies are allowed to pester normal people. It seems to me that if I went out and threw blood or paint on someone’s fur coat, I would find myself in jail. Why do we not incarcerate the loonies?

I agree Sigma. Thing is, they really are a small group. But they get a lot of attention because of all of their antics. The publicity they generate gives the impression to John Q. Public that the group is much larger than it really is.

And yes, if it were you or I we would be in jail for destruction of property. The problem is, you and I wouldn't have the Revrend Jackson to come rescue us with all the media close behind, embarassing the arresting department, now would we?

PETA also gets LOTS of money from people who dont even realize they are donating to PETA. There are numerous products out there, that when you buy them a portion of your money goes to PETA. Anytime a person donates to, or adopts a pet from the Humane Society, PETA gets some of that money. They get money from all kinds of places you would never expect, hell I woudnt be suprised if they were making money from fur sales.

I think people are getting a little irrational on the PETA subject. Remember, PETA, The Humane Society, ASPCA, and lots of other "pro animal" groups never would have been necessary in the first place if there weren't people flagrantly abusing animals. We can respect animals and still eat meat, drink milk, or wear leather.

They're just animals, why can't we abuse them. It's not like we are abusing other human's. I kick my 2 cats daily to keep them in line if they need it or not.

They don't torment me. If one threw something on my clothes, they'd better know how to fight, because I'm opening up a 55 gallon drum full of whoop--- on them.
Like the saying goes: If God didn't want us to eat animals, he wouldn't have made them so tasty.

It also helps when they get high profile celebs onto a cause, Like Pamela Anderson or Paul McCartney.
I tried to join once but they found out my mom and dad were married to each other and kicked me out.

Im tired of the PETA people. Id like to abuse a few of them. But they are sure fun to get wound up. My girlfriends friend is a PETA freak (thankfully my girl isnt). I took them out to dinner once, she freaked when we rolled into a steak house parking lot.

These people need a reality check. Good use for a 9 iron willowbilly3.
