I wouldn't be surprised to see some of those PETA people having a get together at Outback Steakhouse.

Since I am a leather wearing biker who likes to eat animals I'd love for them to try something. 'Specially since I have four animal eating sons one of whom likes to bench 425.

Yep very true. And just the tip of the ice berg.

I have had several dealings with both of these groups. I have come to work more than once and had all the equipment on the job eiter vandilized or burnt to the ground, air lines cut, hydro lines cut, trees spiked, even death threats both in person and over the phone. They have even threatend my girl a few times when she has answered the phone.

It has gotten to the point that I ALWAYS carry my pistiol at work, and arround the house (No CCW in wisconsin yet so I cant carry all the time). Not for the four legged critters but the two legged ones. Logging is dangerous enough as it is I really dont need these freaks to make it more so.

I have also had the fences cut a few times on my farm allowing my cattle to get out. This is especialy dangerous because they tend to cut the fence at its closest point to the state hwy. Its only a half mile from where they cut the fence to the road and guess where the cattle start heading. I dont want them to be hit by a car, dont care about the cow but hitting one at 55+ is likely to kill or seriously injure anyone in the car.

I have numorus complaints on file at the local PD but unforutnatly there has never been enough evidnece to charge any one in any of these cases.

I don't understand why these goups are allowed public access... They should be in jail instead of rambling around the country causing problems.

...Because I hear tell that its still a free country, so that means they have to catch them in the act....

From this thread, I've discovered one great thing about PETA:

They've helped a very diverse group unanimously agree!

They are just as bad as those pro-lifers. We have one situated right in front of a busy street on certain days. They hold up huge pictures of an aborted baby.

What FRIES my HIDE, is, do children need to see this as they drive by in a car? It's just plain sick.

PETA, just like other extremists need to get over this stuff. It's survival of the fittest. Ever heard of organic fertilizer, meat bi-product in dog kibble?

I saw a quote awhile back. " the reason animal rights protesters protest women wearing fur is that even they know its safer than protesting bikers wearing leather" I could just imagine peta people throwing blood on bikers , now that would be a show.

There have also been many cases of PETA putting out poisoned food and traps for hunters dogs. How hypocritical is that?

Bigblu, you're right.

Children should NEVER have to see things like that. And what the
P/L's forget is the sheer horror of maternal deaths if abortion were to truly be made illegal. As a medical professional I have seen firsthand the evil of all sides of this argument- from the young woman having to undergo an emergency hysterectomy because her uterus and cervix were mangled beyond surgical repair, the expelled fetuses struggling as life drips away from their tiny bodies, the pain in the eyes of the couple who wonder if they truly made the right decision, and the heartless protests of those who least understand these terrible issues- those who claim to be pro-life or pro-choice.

It's far more than "survival of the fittest". There is no one human that could even come close to being called "fit".

When Jesus himself was addressed as "Good Teacher" by the
rich young man who sought His counsel for attaining eternal life;
the Son of God pointedly asked the young man "Why do you call me good? There is none good but One, God." If this one perfect man who paid the ultimate price for human life could say this, who
is anyone to say otherwise?

I can't form one word further...I stand humbled and ashamed,
unfit.

Right. Every woman should have a choice to carry or abort a child. If I was informed my child was going to live on a kidney machine for life, or similar, I would have it taken from me. It's not because I am being selfish, it is because I could not limit someone's life, by my choice. I lost my first child because he had kidney problems. But, as long as he was inside of me, he was perfectly fine. The doctors wanted to induce me, but I said I wanted to give this baby every fighting chance. The day I gave birth, he lived for 1/2 an hour. I asked not to see, hear or touch him, because of the emotions. I kept my eyes shut the whole time. That was the hardest thing I have ever gone through. What irritates me most, is this is a MAN that protests this. How the hell does he know what it feels like to give or take birth away.

As the PETA side, there are some things I do agree with. As someone in the pet industry, I see many pets who haven't had baths in a year. Toenails grown into their pads (bottom of their feet. Or eyes matted shut by their own hair. What irks me most is when people throw their dogs outside, because they are incontinent. They can't hold themselves till they go outside. What about grandma, would you throw her outside because it's that time to buy her DEPENDS?

The most I can do is constantly advise proper care to these animals. And when summer comes, I know it's time for the once a year pets to be shaved. And get out the disinfectant.

Poultry 101, an introductory course

The people of PETA should be happy. Thanks to the advancements of science by way of animal testing the life expectancy of humans has increased, on average, 26 years. Just gives them that much longer to protest.

I'm a senior in college studying poultry science and I'm all to familiar with PETA. They love picking on the poultry industry and some of our procedures. PETA has all but ruined the agriculture industry in many European countries, and they're trying their hardest to ruin ours here in America. It just burns PETA up the way we " factory farm" and how we abuse our animals. This is what I can't figure out, how are we abusing chickens? We raise them in a house that cost more than the average Americans house ( $135K) this house is environmentally controlled year round, we provide all the food they could possiably ever want, not to mention it's a very balanced diet with all the requirements of the bird ( no hormones people, I swear), a fresh supply of drinking water that's often filtered through $3,000 filters, and so on. The birds are constantly looked after by professionals, we even have computer monitoring systems that control the house when humans aren't present to maintain the ultimate living conditions, along with self contained generators in the event of power failure. Heck, if you think about it , in some ways these chickens we raise have it better than we humans, yet the poultry industry is constantly abused by PETA because we're mean to the chickens.

We can raise poultry to meet PETA's standards, but let me warn you it will not be cheap. The poultry industry in the US has supplied consumers with an excellent source of protein and essential amino acids very cheap. Think back, and forget about the boneless breast of today. A cut up chicken in the late 50's sold for ~$.60/ pound, today you can still buy that same cut up chicken for under $1/pound in most cases( again forget the boneless and further processed stuff). The same hold true for a dozen eggs. Grant it, I know the cost of boneless breast averages $3-4/pound. However if we raise poultry according to PETA's standards that same boneless breast is going to cost you at least $12-15/pound. I think you can figure out what will happen to the cost of other chicken entree's.

Talk about survival of the fittest! PETA stands to create an even larger food shortage right here in America for a couple reasons. The average consumer will not be able to afford the ethically raised animals, and farmers will not raise these animals because it will no longer be profitable (lets face it, farming is just like any other business there has to be a profit). I suppose Darwin was right when he said "only the strong survive" in this case only the richest of Americans would be able to purchase meat. I've heard that the price of beef would soar to over $20/pound.

Please don't attack me and start telling me that people could eat more vegtables. Most Americans wouldn't stand for that anyway, and in all honesty it's not the healthiest thing for you. If you don't fully understand how to meet your daily requirements of vitamins and minerals, you'll be in big trouble eating only vegtables.

Sorry this was so long, but it's something very near and dear to my heart and I just had to vent.

MMMMM

Too bad it's 8:00 Am.....

I wonder if it would set PETA off, if I threw a big BBQ right next to their protest?

Any fellow Ford fan is welcome!
During South Dakota's centinial my dad brought his chuckwagon to feed everyone who helped drive a herd of cattle to Rapid City and right through the town. As a longtime member of the Stockgrowers association and a colorful character, he got interviewed on local TV. When the somewhat dufus reporter asked what he would be cooking, my dad gave him "the look" and just said "beef of course". This story is a little irrelevant but those cowboys would love to entertain a PETA rally. Team roping would no doubt take on a whole new meaning.

Talking guess what...

Willowbilly,

I'd LOVE to see repetitive demonstrations of
that fine old art of hot iron branding. And of
course, no animals would be harmed... at least
none of the fourlegged variety!

that steak would be real good about now...
think I'll grill me one!

They also turn loose captive-raised mink and chinchilla so they can go out in the cold and starve to death by the hundreds.
