Don't know if anyone has posted this or not yet, but Truck Trend this month has quoted the power numbers for the new 6.0L Powerstroke.
6.0L
305hp @ 3600rpm
550lb-ft @ 2000rpm
7.3L
275hp @ 2600rpm
525lb-ft @ 1800rpm
Anyone know when the 6.0L will become available?
Matt

The new powerstoke is supposed to be put out on time. Most dealerships should be getting them by the end of November to the first of December. But let me tell you, this thing is phenominal!! I got to drag race in one of these pulling 6000 pound, spinning tires and all, you will be hard pressed to find another diesel that can do that. Not only that but its probably the quietest diesel that you have ever heard and they redesigned the transmission to take the power of this engine. It is an all around bad *** truck. Take it from someone who has driven it....me!
You've got to stop reading those magazines! :-) They are months behind in reporting! We published the story in May with the correct (at that time) numbers:
A question for Ken on this topic. I own a 02' F-350 PSD,CC,LB,SRW. Will the new auto trans behind the 6.0L fit into my 02' F-350 behind the 7.3L with out any or minimal modifications.

I'm not Ken, but I know the answer to this question.
No, it will not fit in your truck.
The rear face of block/bellhousing pattern is different. The wiring is different.
Those are the two easy things to fix. I'll bet you could fix both of those for no more than what you paid for your truck! :-staun
The hard part is that the programming that runs the engine and transmission is located in one computer. The computer needs to run a 6.0L Powerstroke along with the TorqShift transmission or it isn't going to operate. If the transmission software doesn't get the proper inputs from the engine software the transmission isn't going to shift.
