I am new to this site, and I love it. Joined to find info on new truck. Got a 2003 F250 SD 4X4 AT Loaded, Sonic Blue Pearl with silver two-tone. Installed stainless steel bug shield, tube grille, bed liner, ventshades, and Xtreme interior liners. First Ford I've ever owned. Saw the truck in the new Sonic Blue and had to have it. I love this truck! Got a whole 16 miles on it. Bought the 5.4 since I live .5 miles round trip from my shop. Now, for the engine. I want more power out of the motor to tow my new dragster. Diablo chip or Superchip? I have picked up a bunch of great tips from ya'll and look forward to hearing from all of you.
Well, I guess I get to do my first WELCOME to a new user. Congrats on the new truck and again welcome to the site. If you do a SEARCH, which hopefully is an option on the top of the discusion threads, you will find lots of info about trying to get more power from your 5.4V8. Mine is just that and I'm working on it. I don't have anything other than a stock motor, but I have gone to Amsoil in the all gear boxes and will be putting it in the trans. Synthetics really help up here in the cold winter. Again welcome,
I run the Diablo chip with my 5.4, also a gibson cat back and K@N FIPK. I love the diablo, I can't coment on the superchip for never trying it. I believe the diablo is a progressive type chip, the harder your on the throttle the more aggressive it gets, I don't believe the superchip is.
Personally, I would go with the Diablo. I installed mine about two months ago and noticed a difference almost immediately. My mileage actually improved from 12 mpg to 14 mpg. I will not "knock" the super-chip, however, the Diablo seems to boast better gains all the way around.
