4R75E Shift Problems

Good day! Trying to keep this as short as possible. 04 FX4 5.4 3V with a 4R75E transmission. A year or so ago it began shuffling between 1st and 2nd instead of a firm shift. It threw a P0750 code so I replaced the solenoid pack. No love. I then replaced the valve body because I found a slight crack when I replaced the solenoid pack. Still no love. It eventually fried first gear so we bought a reman transmission from O'Reilly Auto Parts and had a certified Ford mechanic install it. It did fine for a few months, but now, it's back to the same issue. I've checked the solenoid A wire for continuity... good. Checked it under load for voltage drop... good. Checked it for a short to ground... good. I'm at a loss! Can someone please help?

P0750 says there is a mechanical malfunction with shift solenoid A. It isn't an electrical problem. It's a problem within that solenoid.

Any reason why it would continually go through shift solenoids? This would make the third one.

If it were the same trans, I would say it was contamination. But having the same problem on the second trans is quite a coincidence. I have no answer.

If you clear the code, does it come right back?

Yes sir, the code returns and the erratic shifting does a well. I'm thinking it could be the PCM. But I hate throw one at it without knowing.

I really don't think a bad PCM could cause a P0750 code. It has to be the solenoid.

I understand that, but could the PCM be frying the solenoid?

I had an '08 Edge that did that with a coil pack. The coil went bad and when I replaced it, the new one immediately fried. Come to find out, when the old one went bad, it messed up that circuit in the PCM. If it's not the PCM, I have no idea what else it could be. There's no way it could be three solenoid in a row going bad with one of which being in a reman tranny.
