I've been toying for the last week or so with my son's 4r100, the trans was rebuilt (broken mechanical diode). We have had a couple of other issues but I am stuck on a once in a while 2-3 shift fault. Drove it all day yesterday no problems, out for a ride today had a couple of high RPM shift from 2-3 (3,000) and then a fault. Cleared and faulted three times in a row and then back to normal. The wife says buy the shift solenoid pack and be done with it, I like to have some kind of positive reashurance that I'm buying the right thing. I have cleaned the grounds around the truck, added a direct ground wire to the grounds coming out of the pcm bundle. Any other thoughts or checks before I pull the purchase of a new solenoid pack, and should I buy Ford or one of the so called (high performance ) packs you see on the internet.
this is gonna sound crazy, but i have had a lot of transmission problems past month or two. finally broke down and took it to a transmission shop. the temp sensor caused all my shifting issues and the gear skipping.

Nothing is crazy with these electronic transmissions sometimes you have to think outside the box.

That sounds like the way to go, I just figured somebody would come up with something to try, I can't order one until Monday anyways.
