I'm glad that baseball game is finally over. By the 15th inning, I didn't even care about who was going to win. I no longer cared about how it would end. I just wanted it to end. I couldn't turn it off. I had to have closure. I kept tuned in. Although I didn't want to. At one point, I was watching a LAPD pursuit on my computer screen, as the CHP chased the suspect right by Dodger Stadium.
Did anyone else see that pursuit from earlier in the day, yesterday? Off duty correctional officer shoots and kills an on duty sheriff's deputy. Every cop in The SouthLand is chasing this guy. Guy is on a motorcycle going 130 MPH. Off duty cop in his own car, just happens to be on the same freeway, wipes the guy out.
For the record, the Highway Patrol arrested the guy before the ballgame was over. The first three frames show the CHP shooting the suspect. Lower right corner, the arrest team. You can see the muzzle flash and the projectile traveling from the barrel.

The last time I had a stun gun I ended up zapping myself on the hip. It was my brothers, and he loaned it to me while I worked security on the night shift. It was worn on my hip using the belt clip it came with. Somehow, I hit the button/trigger while wearing it and zapped my hip. Felt like a bee on steroids just stung me. I gave it back to my brother.
I removed the wood from the recliner, and it seems to work ok for now, but it does not close correctly. So, I will move it to the bedroom for storage until I decide what to do with it. Maybe sell it on CL, or Facebook marketplace. The new recliner will be here tomorrow and because it is an actual lift chair I don't care how low to the ground it is. Of course, I could still be stranded in it should the power go out. I will have to shop for a cheap backup power supply to prevent that should it happen again.
I saw the video of the guy who shot the Sheriff deputy fleeing from the scene on his motorbike, it was cool to watch the off-duty cop use his vehicle to knock him off his bike. It is a shame he lived...
The new generation of better made stun guns have multiple switches and safety locks so that you don't stun yourself. The drawback is that all of the safety features will impede use under stress.
A stun gun is like most defensive tools. Gun, knife, chemical agent, baton, less lethal projectiles........ It doesn't always work. When a combative people is under the influence of a controlled substance, they don't feel pain and have extraordinary strength.
Hopefully, none of us will have to fight someone who is on drugs. One of my fears is shooting a zombie who won't go down.
This heat wave is killing me. Not enough air conditioning in The City for this type of weather. I will have to hang out in the ice cream aisle all day.
It actually got up to 80. Which means that for some of us,standing in the wrong spot, it was over 80.
World Series. I'm not a fan of watching baseball on television. I do like baseball. I like it as a participant. I played it in school. I like going to games. Actually, I really like going to games. A live experience, in person, at a ballpark is a very unique experience.
But I'm still watching The World Series. Well, because it's The World Series. I made another Tri Tip. Because it's such an irregular shaped piece of meat, there's a piece for everyone. The center is nice and red, the way I like it. Jim gets the well done pieces towards the end. Fill up the truck and hurry over. The game's almost over.

We compromised last night. Tuned in at around 8:50PM last night and watched (more or less) the 9th inning. Made me feel good watching the Dodgers getting whacked by the Blue Jays.
I'm not comforted by a victory from either team. I have deep seated, ill feelings towards both. Pride & Prejudice. Call it misguided bigotry. If that makes me narrow minded, then so be it. I will be the Archie Bunker of baseball.
They lost game five 6:1. Blue Jays cleaned their clock. They are now behind 3 games to 2, and will be playing the last 2 games in Toronto. I would not be surprised to see the Blue Jays take it.
