One of the cousins shows up with a tri tip. So I made some tomato and eggs. Tomato and eggs, plus tomato and beef, are very common dishes in Chinese restaurants. But you never see the tomato and eggs, with the beef. Always separate dishes. I broke the rules.
My cousin said, "we won't have any left by the time the 9ers play."
Yeah. That's why I usually get 2 tri tips. The kid should go back to the store and get another. I'm greedy and selfish that way. Someone brings beef, and I want more.
I was a nerd kid, of a certain decade. When Tim Leatherman first introduced the Pocket Survival Tool. A game changer. Up until that point, we had "Swiss Army" knives.
I know that most of you guys aren't old enough to remember. A "Swiss Army" knife was a little pocketknife, with a bunch of attachments; most of which you didn't really use. The worst part was that a lot of the attachments didn't work very well. It was all that we had, and better than nothing when you needed a tool.
Over the years, I've owned a lot of different MultiTools. Each one of them had 1 or 2 pieces that I really liked, and a few pieces which I thought were useless. I always thought of the lanyard ring as useless. Who actually ties a tool to their body? Maybe I should have done it. Wear a dog collar, and attach a leash to my pocket knife. Maybe, I wouldn't have lost hundreds of dollars worth of multitools over the decades.
I've abused, misused, and broken a few. Mostly lost them. Some I set down, and forgot about. Some fell out of my pocket. Some fell out of the sheath or carry system.
I bought these MultiTool scissors to carry around. I decided that I need the scissors more than folding pliers. If I really needed a pair of pliers, I would just go get pliers from the tool kit in my truck. It has a few of the odd collection of attachments, like serrated cutting blade, screw driver, bottle opener, etc. It doesn't have a straight edge knife blade. Most multitool knives aren't that great, and they are awkward to use. I routinely carry a real knife. I bought a Nite Ize pouch to carry it with a flashlight, Jim's designer tool bag fits my little 2 X AA battery miniature flashlight perfectly. I always liked having a small flashlight handy, even though I have a full size flashlight in the truck.
Never owned a Swiss Army knife but do remember them.
I carry a small knife, and two small flashlights in my fanny pack. Only reason for two is because I already had one and won a raffle prize at the men's retreat and got a small flashlight and knife set. So, I swapped out the old knife with the new one, and got rid of the pepper spray pen which is over 3 years old and is ineffective now. I carry a small Allen wrench on my keychain to unlock the crash bars at church.
Hello Tim.
My SO always carries a Swiss Army Knife. We couldn't get into the Maker Fair in San Mateo one time because she was carrying. Had to run it back to the car before they would let us in.
I love my Swiss Army Knives. I'm sort of a geek with them. I probably have 10. I used my nice white one I keep in my desk at work for a half hour this morning, cutting packing tape to break down boxes.
