Put a transgo tugger kit in. Gotta pull plate and make some holes smaller as shifts are a bit aggressive. I've already had tuner pull as much pressure as possible through tuning.
Question is.. under light throttle it shifts 2, 3, lockup, 4 and all shifts a pretty good.
Under medium to heavy throttle it shifts 2, lockup, 3 , 4 and the 3 shift slams and is very aggressive. Is that because once converter locks there is more pressure all of a sudden going to the 3 shift?
It slams because the converter is locked. When the converter is unlocked, it will absorb the feel of a harsh shift. A locked converter will transfer the feel right to the truck. The shift is harsh locked or unlocked, but you'll only feel it locked.

Ah, makes sense. So would it be better to reduce the 3 shift by making hole smaller in plate? Or have tuning changed so it only locks converter after the 3 shift?
