Shifting my automatic trans manually

Does anyone know if there is a mudule I can purchase that will let me shift my 2007, 5.4L automatic manually like the newer trucks? I pull a camper allot and often it will downshift to second when going up hills and stay in second longer than I want it to after I have topped the hill. If I could select when it goes back into drive (always turn O.D. off when pulling) or even when the converter goes into lock up would be awesome.

Back off on the throttle for 1 second, and the transmission will shift up into drive... It wont shift up because of the throttle position you are holding.

Yes, just ease up on the throttle, it'll shift up to 3rd .... but likely you'll loose speed.

I know if I ease up on the throttle it will shift up, but by then I loose speed and need to trottle back up making it downshift. If I could hold the gear, it has the power to climb.

I deal with this all the time. My 05 has never had the pcm reprogrammed and is still running the original settings. I've thought about putting a programmer on it but I'm afraid I'll lose my original setting and I gotta tell you my truck runs like a raped ape.
I too tow a lot with my rig and have a slide in camper. I just don't like to be wanging the rpms at 5,000 for a long period when I'm sure if it would stay in 3 it has the power to pull the grade

Is there a minimum speed? Times like that I learned long ago, just accept a slower speed or else keep it wound up. I'll even manually select 2nd and just run her 45-50 if need be. If it'll pull the load at 65 in OD, it'll do it. If it won't pull it in OD and you press harder in the attempt, it'll drop to D. It isn't gonna let you lug it at low RPM in OD pulling a hard grade ... like you might try with a manual. My '07 has been on a SC tune since 2010, shifts are firm, no hunting in and out, but if I am determined to hold a higher road speed in OD, if there comes a point that to maintain that speed beyond a certain throttle, it's still gonna drop to D.

I guess everyone is missing the point of this thread. The newer transmissions will let you manually select a gear and hold it. I know I could let off the throttle, I know I could pull it 50 MPH and **** off everyone behind me, but I was hoping there was an add on module that would give me the gear options like the newer trucks.

I get it and I'm with you. I wish I could keep this thing locked in 3rd because when pulling a steep grade it will downshift into 2 and rev to the moon and not go any faster. I'm a hazard on the road at this point.

What grade you trying to pull, for how long, what is your gearing, and what speed you trying to hold, and how much you towing, more questions unanswered, maybe gearing/grade is asking too much for weight being towed, at speed you want, but they make manual valve bodies, but you looze OD, and have to shift it every time you stop, or Bauman/US Shift, has programmers and they allow a lot, contact them. My dads 04 was same way 3.55, would be screaming at top of Spruce Pine Mountain, Al, a little over 1100' rise, but takes a mile to top it. No idea what the grade would be, we say damn thats a hill climb, every year to car show. speed limit was/is 65mph.

If I **** them off dragging a grade at 50, they are likely the very same ones who'll **** me off with thier impatience.
