I actually already took about 20 new pics of my truck, but I can't upload them to a new gallery for some reason! Talk about pissed off. I already posted a new thread on it or didn't you read it?
Tom, there are tons of people who have turn downs after the muffler. IMO it gets you better low end power, not high end. I've learned that from experience. My old chevy was like that. First and second could just about smoke anything, but the high end on 3rd sucked harshly. In other words, you don't loose torque with the turn down....at least I think.
Regarding your pictures, you know you can only upload 15 pictures per folder, so you may have to create another one. Just like I had to create 2 folders for my nitrous pictures. Try that.
If an album is the same thing as a new folder, then that's the problem. I created a new album that was empty and none of my pics would upload. I even deleted 4 of my old pics out of my old gallery and tried to upload them their, but I still got errors.
I have a Ford F-150, 4.2, 5 speed stick,(agreed Joseph, manual is the only way to go) I ordered a jet chip for it, along with a Airforce one cold air intake and 3" Gibson exhaust system for it. Right now my speed limiter is at 95mph. I hope that with this performance package I will see a significant improvement, along with the removal of the limiter software restrictor. At least until She goes in for a check up.
I like mine, but it will not erase or remove or up the rev limiter. You need a custom burned chip for that. JET Chips come out of the box, you plug and play. The easy breathing you are giving your ride will help quite a bit, good luck on your build.
Thanks for the Info. I hope the return policy is good for that chip. Dude, told me it would have no problem over-riding the speed limiter. If it does not, I'm sending it back. Maybe I should not open it at all. I hope he is right, I hate to spend money on things that don't work. . Joseph, I read you are pretty happy with you're diablo, is it?
If any one has any more info. I would really appreciate hearing form you.
I'm definately happy with my Diablo Chip. Here's the scoop on it:
It's $239 for the chip I got which is a Stage 2 Diablo Chip. Keep in mind that with chips, you gain power (primarily) by the octane you use. The higher the octane, the more power the chip can be worth to you. I have 93 octane in my town, and that is the highest. Most places have 91 octane which is still nice. You can order the chip at www.motorhaven.com or call Ken at Motorhaven at 1-770-806-1955. Calling is the best way to go...it's toll free.
Questions you need to know before calling:
-What are your mods if any
-What is the Octane premium in your town
-Is your truck auto or standard
-What is your ECU Code - You can find the code on the passenger side door frame when you open the door. It will have 3 letters and 1 number like VLW2.
-What kind of truck is yours? ie: SCREW, SCAB, so on and so forth
Typical gains are 19 hp/28 lb-ft torque which are really nice gains for a chip on a V6. When you order the chip (if you order it) you will need to specify everything you want. Tell them you want it to take the speed limiter off and give you all the power.
Another good thing about the chip is that it works at all Throttle levels where the JET and Hypertec chips only work at WOT. (wide open throttle)
Oh yea, and installation is pretty easy too...if you take your time.
Greetings,
I reciently tried installing a Superchip on my 2003/4.2/Manual Gearbox/ Code VLW2. After installation, my truck ran rough, and would not go any higher than 3500 rpm. I contacted Superchip, sent the chip back, they in turn sent me a new chip, which does the same thing. I have cleaned the contacts several times, and looked at them thru a magnify glass. Any comments, and does anyone know of anything that can be put on the contacts to make them conduct better?
