I had an older bill sitting around and decided to deposit it. ATM wouldn't accept it. I double checked it. I'm not a currency expert. But it smelled like US money, the paper felt real, and it had the watermarks. I was fairly convinced that it was authentic. Weird enough, I went to another ATM, and it accepted my deposit. I'm glad that I wasn't walking around with a counterfeit.
Only once in real life have I ever seen a counterfeit. It was a $10. I can't even imagine why anyone would make a fake $10 bill. It's true what they say about stupid crooks. You have to be pretty stupid to fake $10 bills, then try to pass them.
i/we got skimmed at a gas station here. Charged a trip to Disney in Fla and a trip to Africa. Tookn us for around $9400.00 We got it back after filing a Police report. PITA
Well, it serves me right for calling my truck a cantankerous old coot... On the way back from the laundromat, I was about to pull into my carport and the truck would not get out of reverse.
Called USAA roadside assistance. At first, they claimed my policy didn't have roadside assistance. I told them I have had it ever since I started the policy over two years ago. We got disconnected, so I called again, this time they said I do have it. Then it took an hour for the tow truck to arrive. He crawled under the truck to check the shift linkage since the selector doesn't seem to be connected anymore, but the linkage was fine. So, most likely it is the gear selector sensor (which I know is going out anyway), or the small cable attached to it. Anyway, it is back at the shop now waiting to be repaired again.

I remember a story about a guy who was counterfeiting $1 bills. It's been so long, I can't remember where, but NYC seems to stick. Even though the bills were not very good, sloppy in fact, he got away with it for quite a long time because no one pays much attention to $1 bills.
When I was a kid, I remember canned ham. I don't see that anymore. Pretty sure it's still made. Maybe they stopped selling it in the meat case. It's probably moved to the canned foods aisle. No sense wasting refrigeration on canned food.
