Dec 2024 all topic
, I said I don’t do electrical work in the rain for many reasons, I’ll pull the lights out today and test them out in the garage but I won’t put them up until it’s not raining , she said we always have lights up till August 🤷🏼♂️, we’ll perfect time to take them down , it’s not raining

I do have to say , that looks like something from Golden Corral, tritip without a doubt need fire n smoke , I like the med rare and probably purdy good ,
well rain let up , so got the lights up , I’m 1 strand short of a full set 🤔
, I’m talking about my Christmas lights y’all , 1 strand to finish the other side of the gable end , I think I’m going to have to buy new lights next year , the last set was the tangled up ice cycle lights , you know the ones that hang down about 8 to 10” and ya spend more time untangling those instead of the whole strand , because they tie each other in knots and seen to catch four or five other strands like a flipping cable for a tow truck 🤦🏻, these sets the LEDs are getting discolored , some are white and some are yellow , the screwable plastic caps are decorative like the tree lights but those are getting brittle and scratched up from dragging them across the roof and planter box , each year I sit unscrewing caps and pushing in LEDs lights in to make the strand work again, Other than that , I’m good
rock on dudes.

Scott, well you could keep the lights up all year. Then you would not have to untangle them every winter.

Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
Tri tip tacos huh? That is something I didn't think about. Maybe I'll go get some tri tip next time I go to Walmart.
Well, my truck did it again. Simple little drive to Les Schwab to have them air up the tires since they right front was a little low. They inform me that it is seven years old, and they cannot remove it from the truck because they would have to sell me a new one. New one for that truck is $181. I don't have that, so they just aired it up. They also told me the left front is under five years old, but that both rear tires are over five years old. Anyway, just like a simple drive to Red Carpet Car Wash last month, this turned out to be not so simple. On the way to Harbor Freight to pick up a long-handled squeegee so I can clean the windshield without having to go to the local gas station, I experienced what can only be described as the "death wobble" Just under forty mph the truck shakes so violently that I have to slow down to get it to stop. I don't know if they aired up all my tires, or just the right front, but that is all they did was bring the tire pressure up. So that has to be the reason for the death wobble. I have already checked the death wobble topic on the forums here and it says most the time the culprit is the tires. Since three of mine are past their expiration I guess I will be buying tires the next two months. I cannot afford to buy new ones, and even used ones will have to be bought two at a time. So, I'll buy two for the front in January, and two for the rear in February. The left front I will have them put in the truck bed to be used as a spare. Just need to find another wheel like mine since this truck did not come with a spare. Neither did that POS truck I bought from San Jose. Maybe I'll ask Javier at the repair shop to look for one next time he sends someone to the junkyards for parts.

A tornado warning was issued this morning. I could have been sucked. Then taken to The Land of Oz.
Since I was already taking off water supply lines, I remembered what @FatDiesel said about water hammer in his bathroom. So I added water hammer arrestors. I don't know if that was a waste of money. But I figured that it couldn't hurt.
The old bathroom faucet was from Lowes, with a Lifetime Warranty. Of course, I kept the receipt from oh so many years ago, and tried to return it to the store. The store manager said that I had to call the manufacturer. Odd. Lowes house brand. Lowes is the "manufacturer", right? I was given a phone number to call on Monday during business hours. So if someone has a broken faucet, how long are they suppose to go without running water, until a corporate office person decides if they will honor the lifetime warranty? I did what anyone would do. I went to Home Depot instead. Bought everything I needed there, out of spite. If they honor the lifetime warranty on Monday, I guess I'll have a spare faucet.
I used a couple of "specialty" tools. Most plumbing supply stores will have them. If any of you guys ever consider a DIY plumbing job to save $1,000, you will want these tools. They pay for themselves with one job. Or the way that I see it, it was free after what I didn't pay the plumber.
