The "turkey" the VA assistance program sent me was actually a chicken. Didn't find out until we looked at the wrapper it was in. LOL. it looked too small to be a turkey now I know why. Anyway, it has been eaten completely by now. I still have two chickens in the freezer the same size that I got from a food drive, so I can take one out and have another "turkey" dinner anytime I want now.
Happy foggy Monday Nor-Cal! Going to be a pea soup kind of morning today. Which is typical of the valley this time of year. I remember the first winter I moved up here, December of 2003. There was a 90 car pile-up on I-99. The CHP blamed the fog, I blamed the drivers who were obviously driving too fast for the conditions. They didn't ask my opinion, and I didn't give it. It was just my reaction to hearing it on the news.
Happy Sunday and for me the second Thanksgiving dinner. We went to my Nieces place for Thanksgiving and didn't bring home any left overs, so we cooked our own Turkey today!
Our nephew has a gig that he's done for ~~ 14 years that has him away from home Thanksgiving week. So we typically delay our Thanksgiving get together until the first week of December (or there abouts). My SO & I had our just the two of us dinner on Thursday, so it was very tiny, and intimate. The real deal happens this weekend.

That's really shameful. Turkey is so cheap this year, that the stores are practically giving them away. I can't believe that they gave little chickens to veterans.

I kind of figured Biden would pardon his son, still, it was a bit of a shock that he actually did it seeing as how he kept saying over and over he wouldn't. And his reason for doing so was just plain stupid. Nobody singled out his son. His son even admitted to doing the things he was accused of. This country is not what it used to be.
Dad brought up a point that the next generation in the family, all the kids in the generation after mine, were born as millionaires. Literally. Born to parents and grandparents who own homes. None of those children know it yet. They have a unique advantage in life. All descended from immigrants. Scoundrels, outlaws, political subversives, and ancestors who had to flee their homelands or be killed. And that's not a figure of speech. Some of my relatives were factually being hunted by the governments of those lands.
Only problem is that a million dollars isn't worth much anymore. And it will be worth less in a few years.
